Kane: You have my sympathy regarding post topicality, although in this case I think the topic was done to death before it went off at a tangent - anyone reading the first few posts will get all they need to know and more. Nonetheless, if something starts a discussion, I have to agree we should keep it. Sorry this means you get junk.

To go vaguely back on topic, other than the limits on type of laser, are their any upper bounds on light being emitted by a robot? Should there be a bound on whats too dim to be visible, and whats bright enough to be nondistracting? Just wondering about making a light show out of the feature. Optical illusions (how fast *is* that disk spinning?) and all that.

Sorry if this is covered in the rules anyway, but at least its a change from colour-blindness.
