This page gives you
information on some of the robot warriors out there. Some of these robots
have featured in Robot Wars and have now retired. Others have been in both
Robot Wars and now take part in many live events and in the open circuit.
These events are organised by the FRA, an organisation containing
roboteers and event organisers.

pneumatic scoop as a weapon which is very good at flipping over other
robots. It has a good yellow and black colour scheme.

can flip robots over and even out of the arena. I have lost count of how
many times they have flipped a robot out of the arena! Once they have done
that, they go and take on the house robots! So far, they have managed to
flip over Matilda, Shunt and
Sergeant Bash who they nearly got out of the
arena. It was built in 6 months for £250. Statistics

5
This robot has a flipping arm
powered by a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher. It cost £2000 to build and
it was built in 3 months. Its top speed is 12 mph. It can move around very
easily because of its good go-kart wheels. One of the best tactics is to
flip a robot over so it is standing up leaning against the arena walls so
it can't self right again.

Gemini
Got to mention this robot
because it was the first clusterbot in Robot Wars. This means that they go
into the arena as one robot and then they can split into two. Each robot
has a fantastic flipper which can really make other robots fly. If one
robot is flipped over, the other can flip it back the right way up again
which is a good advantage but rules state that if one of the clusterbots
is immobilised, then both are out which is a big disadvantage.

The Hypno-Disc pullback

That terrifying disc spinning
at over 750 rpm can not only scratch robots but pull their whole armour
off. Then they go in and take out all the batteries and everything from
the inside! They were very close to winning series 4 but Pussycat took out
their wheel so they were just sitting their and then Shunt put its axe
into the disc stopping that from working. Oh dear but anyway, it is a superb,
destructive robot capable of spinning many robots into hundreds of tiny
pieces. It has a top speed of 10 mph and it is made out of an aluminium
and mild steel shell with custom made wheels. You have to spin to win!

Excellent sports but they don't do very well in the

wear black and more black with black sunglasses. The robot is always out

series 3 they never got moving! It is a tracked robot and it is made of
aluminium. It has a top speed of 15 mph. You have got to love their songs:
"Shout out loud, make lots of noise, there's damage to be done by the
plunderbird boys. Gonna stamp on you, gonna hit you hard. Gonna send your
robot to the breaker's yard. What's the word? PLUNDERBIRD!"

it has a very poor reliability and it is known for breaking down often.
However, despite its break downs, it has managed to win the world
championship twice. Its maximum speed is 11 mph. It has 450 holes drilled
into the robot to keep its weight down. The crushing piercer and exert 9

team met over the Internet and built the entire robot over cyberspace as
well! Gosh! The name stands for Sorry Mate I Didn't See You. The SMIDSY
team, for Sumo in Series 4, put salt in the robot's jaws so they could
sprinkle it everywhere like with Sumo wrestlers! Statistics

Sir
Chromalot Excellent
sports and comedians, always guaranteed to get a laugh! One year they come
in with a load of dancing girls, the next, they are wearing many different
styles of jazzy suits! Great sports but unfortunately the robot usually
doesn't get that far through the rounds. Statistics
