Yea, same! Have you or are you going to convert team RCCs heavy weights to A123s Leo?

No we decided not to. We have 1 feather on A123s and that is working out great. But we still have plenty of NiMhs for Obsidian and they work fine as well.

We are not strapped for weight either so we intend to keep using NiMh for Obsidian and SLA for Mantis and RCC2 for now. But it is good to know we can fall back to a lighter battery like the A123 if we do need more weight.

I am familiar with Obsidian (your axe seen at the last UK champs?) Mantis is the crusher robot bought from Adrian? But what does RCC2 look like? I couldnâ‚¬â„¢t find a pic on your website.

RCC2 is the oldest machine we have running. on our photoalbum it is the one being crushed by TAN. I still have a picture of it on the computerclub page somewhere.

Its cutters in the front used to be powered by a linear actuator of 2 tonnes, until we broke the gearbox while cutting a washdryer in half. Now the weapon system has been changed to a pneumatic system of just a few 100kg of force, so not threatening. It doesnt have a srimech either so we dont really use it in competitions much, only for demos and as competition filler.
