    Heat B

Last time, we saw Tanto 3 beat Dantomkia in the heat final, who will collect semi final place number 2?

    Melee 1
The Deer (29) vs. Kick in the Teeth vs. Darth Dread

From Essex and Scotland, and 29th seed, The Deer. The Deer is entered by Martyn; it has 4 wheels, which all powered from 2 motors. The Hardox shell should survive hits, but the Hardox side panels can be removed if the bolts are hit, could this be a problem for The Deer? On the other hand, the front Kan-Opener style crushing claws could cause pain to other robots.
In FAR 8: Caused a shock in round 1, after pitting Scottish Fiction 2, before coming unstuck against Flaming Hell in round 2.

From America, Kick in the Teeth. Entered by Clover and it is her second robot in as many heats. Armed with a lethal looking vertical flywheel at the rear of the machine, which could cause excess pain and the front wedge, that can ground out other robots. Overall a good machine runs inverted and is a classic design. It could do well, unless it meets something with more power, as with 2 wheels it can be out-push
    In FAR 8: Didn€™t enter

From the land of Kody, Darth Dread. Entered by Kody, and armed with a hammer that makes the hammer of Thor look tiny. The 11 kg hammer comes down with some force. The 4 wheels give some traction, and are protected from attack using some lovely titanium and lexan. However the hammer has limited fires and seeing as it€™s the self-righter, things could turn ugly if it came up against a flipper.

All three robots are away; all are around the same speed and have the same acceleration, as Clover gets her disc on Kick in the Teeth up to speed, as Darth Dread is aiming towards The Deer. And Martyn is aiming towards the sides of Darth Dread. The front claws on The Deer are open, waiting for the attack. Kody starts to drive Darth Dread towards The Deer in a hope to shock-kill the 29th seed. Meanwhile Kick in the Teeth is moving away from the square and is looking for The Deer as the team-up starts.

Are you going to Scarborough Fair? The first blood is drawn as Darth Dread fires the hammer, as the 25 Lb hammer comes down, The Deer moves quickly, as the hammer slams into the arena floor, and Darth Dread hops up as the hammer€™s energy is pushed back from the steel floor. Kick in the Teeth quickly slams into the rear end of Darth Dread, flipping the hammer robot over. The Deer slams into, before Darth Dread can self-right and starts to crush into the armour. A pop is heard as the claws find the titanium armour very tasty to eat, and crushes into the rear corner of Darth Dread, unable to self-right when being held. Kick in the Teeth slams into the side of The Deer flipping it over with ease, and pulling Darth Dread up. The Deer is on it€™s side, being held up by Darth Dread, which fires the hammer, pulling both robots around and back down, but Kick in the Teeth slams into The Deer once more, this time at the front, as the claw bends upwards. Darth Dread turns on the spot and hits the hammer, as it comes down, hitting into The Deer€™s underbelly, leaving a dent in the Hardox.

Martyn is looking worried, as he reverses and runs for it. Darth Dread is flipped once more by Kick in the Teeth, which has bad driving, as The Deer turns, slams into the side of the now self-written Darth Dread, and continues in the crush, turning Darth Dread around to block Kick in the Teeth€™s attack. Martyn looks happy, as he drives Darth Dread towards the very overpowered arena spike. Kick in the Teeth manages to close the arena, and slams into rear end of The Deer, flipping away the power link cover, as the link is now open to attack, could another seed be heading out?

Darth Dread fires the hammer, as it tries to put another lovely dent in the arena floor. Kick in the Teeth comes in slamming into the side of The Deer, just as Darth Dread is flipped by the spike. The Deer comes down onto it€™s side, as Darth Dread is on it€™s side, being held up by The Deer€™s claws. The right hand side claw is bent upwards and just holding, as Martyn is saying that the hydraulic pressure has gone and he can€™t open the jaws. Darth Dread fires the hammer, which turns it around, ripping away from the hold of The Deer, as Kick in the Teeth slams into Darth Dread, the top panel is ripped away from Darth Dread, showing the world the hammer. The spike fires once more as Kick in the Teeth is sent over, Clover forgot about the spike, as all Kick in the Teeth lands on top of The Deer, the wheels spinning either side, as it looks like the battle has come to an early end.

Ref comes over, lifting Kick in the Teeth away in one hand, and freeing Darth Dread with the other hand, The Deer falls down onto the floor, and all three robots are free to go, a grinding noise is coming from Darth Dread, as all the roughing around has pushed one of the wheels off centre, and it is rubbing against the sharp corner. Too late, the tyre has gone, ripped away from the wheel, as Kick in the Teeth slams into the pit release. The hammer fires on Darth Dread as it€™s been a long day, please don€™t take a picture.

The Deer slams into Darth Dread using it€™s rear, and starts to push Kody€™s hammer robot towards the now opened pit. Smoke is rising from the land of lost hopes and dreams, as Darth Dread crashes out.

    Melee 2
Beast Boy 3 vs. Tsunami 2 (4) vs. Scottishly Fictional

From America, Beast Boy 3. Entered by Devon, it€™s a rare robot to see these days, an Axlebot. This Axlebot has a stinger style axe, but with a disc between the double ends of the axe arm. No idea how this will work, but Meh. It is easy to turn, but suffers control issues, exposed wheels and rubbish pushing power. However Beast Boy 3€™s hammer is powered by momentum, so it can cause damage once it gets up to speed, so if it€™s trapped with the axe up in the air, it has no weapons.
    In FAR 8: didn€™t enter

From Germany, and 4th seed, Tsunami 2. Entered by Matt, the 2 wheel drive flipping wedge from Germany is hoping for another good run. The flipper is powerful, the driver is excellent, but the armour is so-so in some places. The drive is common for a real robot, with twin Bosh drive, giving out 2 horsepower, so it can be out-pushed, but we will let that flipper do the talking for now.
In FAR 8: Beat Tough as Nails, Dead Simple (31), The Crashing Bore (2), No Close Shave 2(10), before coming unstuck against Bulldog Breed in round 5, but won the loser€™s melee.

From Scotland, Current PTT champion, Scottishly Fictional. Plug done, so what€™s see what the current champion for PTT has, it has 6 wheel drive, a small disc in the wedge. Basically it€™s a storm 2 clone with a different weapon. Once flipped, the wedge is pointing downwards, so it could be fun for Scottishly Fictional in round 1. The pushing power and acceleration is enough to cope.
In FAR 8: As Scottish Fiction 2, had high hopes from getting 3rd in FAR7, but it crashed out in round 1 against The Deer.

The acceleration from the LEM 130 drive-chain on Scottishly Fictional speeds it away from the line, turning to attack Tsunami 2. Matt is ready for this attack, and dodges the front wedge of Scottishly Fictional, and before Scott can do anything, Scottishly Fictional is flipped over, showing the sign €œWho need€™s a Srimech?€

Beast Boy 3 starts to move, heading towards Tsunami 2, but Matt slams the German flipper into gear and heads over to Beast Boy, which brakes, sending the axe down onto the front wedge of Tsunami 2, and bending the titanium, in revenge Tsunami 2 flips Beast Boy 3 over. Scottishly Fictional slams into the rear of Tsunami 2 and slams it into the arena wall. Scott is looking for revenge here, but Beast Boy 3 comes over and slams into the underbelly with the axe, which bounces off. Tsunami 2 turns, and sees Scottishly Fictional running away. Annoyed with himself, Matt turns onto Beast Boy 3 and flips it over once more, the disc making sparks when it hits the steel floor.

Scottishly Fictional has opened the pit, and is making short-distance in crossing the arena; Tsunami 2 uses the control factor and dodges the attack, as Scottishly Fictional slams into Beast Boy 3, and going up onto the axe arm. Tsunami 2 quickly gets underneath the rear of Scottishly Fictional and flips it onto the arena wall. Beast Boy 3 rams into Tsunami 2 with the disc, and Matt turns, ramming into Beast Boy 3, and pushing it towards the low wall.

Ref is out of the zone and is freeing Scottishly Fictional from the wall, but before Scott can attack once more, Tsunami 2 has placed Beast Boy 3 out of the arena, as it crashes down onto the camera tracks.
