HEAT FINAL
Glasgow Kiss VS REVENGE OF THE REVENGE OF THE BLUDGEONATOR!
Both of us are pretty similar in design, but my dustpan should prove more effective than his little roundy wedge bit at the front. Basic tactics are to scoop it up from the sides and either smash it to death (the semi-exposed wheels look a nice target) or grapple the hammer and shovel it off the side of the ring.

Wow, it€™s been a short week hasn€™t it? God DAMN do I love four day weekends And it€™s just occurred to me, I haven€™t done any €œI€ puns lately. So without further ado€¦ Aye, aye, aye, I spot a heat I final! In round 1, Revenge of the Etc managed to cripple Love Bite with a few blows, while Glasgow Kiss got Think Tank into the moat with few problems. We€™re staying for the moat with this fight, so let the heat final begin!

ACTIVATE!!

The two Scottish swinging sychopaths rush forward to meet each other in the centre and both weapons fire simultaneously! Glasgow Kisses axe bounces off the hardox armour of ROTROTB, while ROTROTB€™s hammer misses and bounces off the floor! Glasgow Kiss drives forwards and manages to slip under ROTROTB€™s side momentarily, but doesn€™t get under fully and ROTROTB escapes!

ROTROTB spins around and smashes the hammer down onto Glasgow Kiss€™s top leaving a dent and knocking some of the paint off! Glasgow Kiss spins around to face the ROTROTB and the axe once more bounces off ROTROTB€™s armour, and the hammer comes down straight on top of Glasgow Kiss€™ axe shaft!

ROTROTB wastes no time in charging forwards, and scoops under Glasgow Kiss from the front! As Glasgow Kiss is driven towards oblivion, Scott presses the axe fire button to try and dislodge Glasgove Kiss, and succeeds in doing so! However, Glasgow Kiss ends up in front of ROTROTB and on its rear, so ROTROTB gets under again as it self rights and shoots it into the moat!

It€™s the end of the affair for Glasgow Kiss, the Revengenator goes through to the last 16!

Cyclone Force 2 doesnt stand a chance sadly (polycarbonate armour against Alexs evil spinner) and I think it will be leaving the arena in a number of bin bages.

Veg 2 to do a surprise surprise and get knocked out by Wedga Revo

Heat J is about to start, with four new robots about to strut their mechanical stuff. None of them have competed in the main series before, so it€™s a great opportunity for everyone. Fighting today for a spot in the heat final are:

Annoyance is one feature Alex Holt tries to install in his machines, and with its defensive/offensive two tier full body spinning system, Archangel of the Abyss certainly has that in spades. As Angel of the Abyss it competed in NSBFL X in the New Blood where it was booted out in the second round by Monsoon€™s Back, but got the seeding for being consistently successful in other tourney€™s. It also competed in the BB series but we won€™t mention that

Cyclone Force 2 is Chris Mason€™s interchangeable rammer, with three weapon set-ups. With minimalist GC, plenty of grunt in the motors and powerful weapons this could whip up a storm, but the weak Polycarb armour could mean Cyclone gets Forced apart.

Veg 2 is one of this heats flipper fighters. With a helium powered flipper running at 500 PSI, this machine has plenty of lift. It€™s also invertible, and can flip either way up so doesn€™t need to waste gas self righting. However two wheel drive could cost it in the traction stakes.

Wedge Revo is Andy€™s last hope in the heavyweights, but it€™s a good machine to pin your hopes on. This is what Storm 2 would be if it had a flipper and not a lifter, not to mention better skirts. However the armour isn€™t as good as Storm 2€™s, especially the baseplate so anything that could get at that could do some serious damage.

Battle 1

Archangel of the Abyss vs Cyclone Force 2 in the Classic arena.

ACTIVATE!!

Cyclone Force shoots forwards to try and wrap the claws around Archangel, but the upper flywheel catches one and bats it away! Cyclone Force turns around to get the claws into play again, but Archangel moves forwards and catches Cyclone Force on the side as it starts to turn with the lower flywheel! Cyclone is blasted across the arena with a huge crack in the side, while the heavier Archangel isn€™t jolted away so much!

Chris takes his machine back on the attack, but again the upper flywheel knocks Cyclone away just enough so the attack misses! Again cyclone comes in but it again gets deflected! Alex switches off the top flywheel once the lower is up to a good speed. Seeing his chance, Chris takes Cyclone Force in, but the lower flywheel catches the claw this time!

Cyclone Force is spun away from the impact and one claw is hanging down uselessly! Cyclone Force backs away from Archangel while Chris works out a new plan, and this is fine with Alex as it gives him time to spin up the lower flywheel! Archangel chases Cyclone Force, but can€™t compete with the wheeled €˜bots speed! After a boring minute of this, Chris makes a mistake and has to stop Cyclone Force dead to avoid going in a CPZ!

Archangel pounces in the moment Cyclone Force is still and rips into the back end of Cyclone force! Cyclone Force is spun into the CPZ and receives a belt from the Miltant€™s flywheel, sending it spinning back out again and making a piece of Polycarb fly off! Archangel strikes again with the lower flywheel barely up to normal speeds, but this proves enough to crack the Polycarb some more and kill Cyclone Force stone dead!

Archangel backs off while the house robots come in to inspect the corpse. Flipup nudges Cyclone with the bucket lifter then, when no response is given, turns it over. Cyclone force still doesn€™t move, so while the pit descends, Flipup deposits Cyclone Force onto the floor flipper, which sends Cyclone Force through the air! The first impact is right on the damaged claw, causing it to come out completely! Bane catches Cyclone Force as it rolls away and sends it down the pit and out of its misery.

Cyclone Force couldn€™t even muster an F1. Archangel of the Abyss ascends into the heat final!

Battle 2

Wedge Revo vs Veg 2 in Roulette.

ACTIVATE!!

Both machines charge straight at each other, with Wedga winning the battle of the wedges and throwing Veg 2 over! Veg 2 lands with a bump, and turns the wrong way as Matty works out which way is which! Turning the wrong way makes it evade Wedga€™s next attack as Andy wrongly guesses which way its going and the two separate.

Veg 2 shoots at Wedga€™s side but can€™t get under the skirt! Wedga turns around and Veg 2 rides over onto the wedge and is once more tossed backwards and lands on a pit! After not disappearing in a cloud of smoke, Veg 2 goes back on the attack but once more gets caught and this time flipped into the PPZ! The nearby Uncle Tomahawk attacks with the axe, but misses as Veg 2 escapes the PPZ!

Veg 2 passes Wedga as Andy goes in for the kill, and Wedga dives into the PPZ and gets axed by Uncle Tomahawk! Andy pauses for a moment to flip the house robot over, then gets Wedga out of there as Flipup comes in to play as well! Veg 2 slams into Wedga€™s side as it gets out of the PPZ but again the skirt holds true and Matty€™s attack is denied, and once more Veg 2 is wedged under in return and flipped away, just narrowly missing a pit!

Veg 2 drives away and turns around to face Wedga, only for Wedga to slam under it again and shove it over a pit! This proves a waste of time for Andy though as a different pit opens, and Wedga drives Veg 2 near the PPZ and flips it in! The Militant hits Veg 2 right out of the PPZ though but Wedge drives in under Veg 2, ignoring the nearby house robot as it powers up its weapon and ejects Veg 2 from the arena!

Veg 2 needs to eat its greens, as it gets an atomic Wedga. Wedga goes through to the heat final!
