Thread: 24th-28th March - ROBOlympics

Hey guys - sorry to pester you - but its time to register for ROBOlympics 2005!

2005 is going to be much bigger and much better than 2004! We want more Europeans, so dont miss the big show!

Im still upholding my offer to waive combat entry fees for all people whod registered for the FRA world Championships. I know that airfare and stuff is expensive, but this is the place to test your metal AND see a lot of really cool robots.

    [prepared text below...]

Hosted at San Francisco State University, this years event is now four days long and each event will have its own building! Thats right - robot combat it its own building - but soccer in another, Robo-One in another building, and so on!

Dont miss this years event! Last year we were covered by everyone from CNN and Wired to Radio Toyota and USA Today.

This is the only competition in the world where all major events come together. And this year weve added more! Build a Tetsujin Iron-Man or play Aibo Soccer - theres now 56 events in all!

If you never comepted before, join BuildersDataBase and sign up for the show - its a pretty quick process (yall should use it in Europe for your tournies...)

Id realy like to see more Super Heavys - US$3400 is a lot of dough! All cash prizes will be paid on site!

Feel free to email me with questions, and I look forward to seeing you at the big event!

But I understand the money and time issues!

Alas we can always hope for more bots!!!

Ed - this is your chance to revenge Typhoon for the last RobotWars! We finally got to see the finals and thought you had him. Come on - Sewer Snake (aka Angry Asp) would really like the chance to face Storm II.

I have just bought a new digital camcorder and am taking it across to the robolympics so hopefully I will get some good film and if we go up against megabyte, the camera will be rolling!

I think Typhoon 2 is currently 1-1, winning its first fight but losing to Slam Job by being flipped (see photos).
Typhoon Cadet is also 1-1 losing to VD3.3Hell Fire (my favourite bot) but beat knuckle duster.
I think its double elimination, so theyre both still in with a chance.
I hope Gary got the fights on film!
