Big yellow bot seems to be the common name for it now, but Id still prefer Serrano if possible.

Hey Sam, How are you feeling mate?
We are there!! OK we cant run it, but we are there!! Saying that, we would love to run Scorpion in full combat trim, but until such time as we can, we will still come to these events because its FUN and its all good practice!
Geoff.
Sam,
Spinners and events every three weeks dont mix.
If someone wants to give me some cash to build three Mutes then Ill fight spinners at live events, otherwise no chance. Id rather go to every live event and have fun in the arena instead missing the events cos Im fixing Mute in the workshop.
Comments welcome - just dont start a debate again :0
Sam, As you problably found out, not that many spinners are going to the full combat events this year anyway As Daniel said, there is a limit to how much money you can put into fighting spinners ever other week. Im sure you can see that. Its not a dig at bigger weapons but say that our crusher was powerful enough to do you serious damage, would you fight us week after week if we put holes in your speed controllers every time? There will come a point where you will either refuse to fight us or not have enough money or time to fix it and miss out on other events.
Having said that as we dont really know what will happen when we fight a spinner we are entering the full combat ones anyway to find out. We do need an incentive to fight the more distructive robots in full combat (such as large prize money, apperance fees) and the other events are just for FUN.
Ask me again in a few weeks. I should know better by then.

Hey.. I wasnt looking for a fight believe me, Im not in much of a state to be fighting at the mo, being the original hop along man
Spinners in live events and the issues they raise for both the organisers and the roboteers has been I think done to death.
However
I dont think that theres any question that Jonno and co could if they so wished set themselves up to house spinners at this point, so the old reasons of safety, and after that damage, and even to some extent prize funds are probably no longer valid in this instance (I may be wrong obviously!)
So in effect what has happened is that spinners have been banned, wholesale from the majority of events across the uk and the reason for this is?
Well simply that when any event organiser suggests letting them in, theres almost invariably a shitstorm of protest from the roboteers themselves!
I just think its time this was explained simply to the people who have already built spinners, or are thinking of doing so.. and that really and truly any event that is saying no spinners should fess up, and put it very specifically into their rules that rotational energy weapons are not allowed.
Itll make things clear for those who still harbour dwindling hope that one day the spinners will be able to play at all events at least.
Anyway
Back to my sofa me thinks..
Sam
hows ur blisters m8
Mr Danbys machine? thatll be Tanto please mate Ill have a mean little antweight too
Having built a spinner. And been trashed by a couple of spinners (supernova & Matilda) I have to say that Im not in favour of spinners at live events. Its just to expensive.
My new robot is still going to have a spinner in the vane hope that series 8 will go ahead. But Im also looking at other weapons to fit the same body so that I can take part in friendly competition at live events.
