    Nothing to do with costs. Purely based on the mechanics of a collision and transferring as much energy as possible.

    I'd recommend a solid state relay activated by an RC relay

    from my experience car fan motors are fine on 24v

    i did. I always follow the rule of thumb of 1.5 times for a safe over volt on a motor without running it to ruin too quickly. If they can take it then by all means.

    Not well, stainless has entierly different capacities compared to hardox. But that depends on kind of stainless tough.

    For money, Hardox is the cheaper stuff.
    Sourcing it. I would send an Email to SSAB, to ask who's selling the stuff around your location. From that you can select compagnies that work with Hardox, and then search for offcuts. Or even a made to fit spinner bar.
