Plug in failsafes

Hi all,

I know there is a few threads regarding failsafes. But I'm looking for some help with fail safes that you can buy that just plug in.

There are r/c failsafes that have two servo leads on them. On a rd/c car they would plug in between the throttle servo an rx. How would these configure in a featherweight bot set up. If 1 ifs fitted at the esc it would just shut it off. But everything else eould still work. How would/could you use one of these in a set up that if signal is lost it would turn the bot off?

The stand alone commercial failsafe I ever have worked with is the Futaba FS1. That was in Project One and Two.
In Project One we used 1 Futaba FS1 to failsafe a single RC switch, what in its turn controlled an Albright SW80 B 24V what was wired in series with the removable link. Losing signal- rather commin in the 40 MHz days, ment dead robot untill signal was restored.

Afterwards we got the Bugs Microswitch, what could double as failsafe unit.

And now we're using the DX6-BR6000 combination, what solves all those problems in 1 stroke.

a lot of work invloved there then. so really i'm better to use a built in failsafe that comes with a quality 2.4ghz radio set.

Will the spektrum dx5i have a failsafe also?

Either in the radio or in your ESC. I cant remember if you said or not, but what ESC are you using/planning on using?

I'm always thoroughly confused by where the failsafe actually is. Is it in the Rx, the Tx the ESC maybe!?

Solution? I plug it all in, full throttle, Tx off and if it stops, I now longer worry.

If it doesn't.... erm... well that hasn't happened yet....

The AR500 receiver outputs NULL or no signal on all channels except the throttle with loss of signal.

The AR500 removes servo output pulses to all channels except the throttle channel during failsafe.
€ The AR500 throttle failsafe position is stored via the throttle stick position on the transmitter
during binding.

Ideal in most respects for Robots.
