Thread: EYE OF THE ROBOT - Extreme Edition

Um...same tactics against TSA as for Gehenna, really ;P good fight Paul, and bad luck Andy.

    And...you haven't, have you...no...XD

Joey...Tracy...what do you say we have a house robot beating fest before starting on each other?

Not going for any team-ups here. Wedginator can hold his own in melees.

I don't know Kody (in reference to your previous point), Gabriel's point could get underneath the front of Wedginator easily I think and the sides and rear are high off the ground, and the version of Envy that Wedginator X is based on had trouble with driving because the shape meant a lot of the weight was forward of the wheels, which screwed the turning up...

This is an awful fight to write tactics for because it involves two of my very best friends and awesome people, and Failure and Gabriel have their own moe-bot thing going on XD erm...my tactics are as follows:

    1) Attack house robots with Failure and Wedginator. ^^

    2) When the business of 1) is finished, it depends what's happening really. I'm open to being teamed up with but really don't want to be teamed up against, hehe...

IF THERE ARE NO TEAMINGS AT ALL: Flip, stay away from hazards, and concentrate on not going out and generally attack indiscriminately both Failure and Wedginator, avoiding their wedges and getting one or the other out ASAP.

IF THERE IS A TEAM UP INVOLVING ME: Go with that and go against the bot not involved in the teamup. ;P

IF THERE IS A TEAM UP AGAINST ME: Go for Wedginator - it is, objectively, the robot Gabriel has a better chance against as I might well be able to outmanoeuvre it and get to the sides (see first paragraph) and it's far easier for Gabriel to get under Wedginator than vice versa (Wedginator's side and rear ground clearance is appetising, metaphorically speaking, and the front blade will be easily got under by Gabriel's front point if the two meet at any angle due to surface area) and generally get it out of the fight, preferably down the pit rather than out of the arena. Failure's weapon shouldn't do much to the angled armour or thick ears but I'll try not to let it have a chance to.

Best of luck to all of you though ^_^

GABRIEL WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY: ...I...I'm sorry Failure...I don't want to hurt you too much, alright? please don't h-hurt me too much either...s-same with you Wedginator, you might be a psychopath but I do like y-you...sorry...

Gabriel's point could get underneath the front of Wedginator easily I think
That depends on a number of things. Surface area rule is indeed one of them, then there's how much weight is resting on that point (in fact you were the one who said Wedginator is front heavy) but do consider the possibility that NEITHER robot gets underneath the other. In such an event, only meeting Wedginator DIRECTLY will allow Gabriel to push it away (Gabriel having slightly higher voltage for its A40-300s [yeah, they're called that now :P]), otherwise, if the point meets my blade at any other way, Gabriel is going to be pushed aside, and I'll be able to get under the nosecone from the side.

and the sides and rear are high off the ground
Fair enough, but ground clearance doesn't truly determine the winner, even in a battle of flippers. Skirts aren't 100% reliable. And who says you'll even get to them anyway, checking both stats closely *I* seem to have the more controlled drive, if not being faster than yours, anyway.

and the version of Envy that Wedginator X is based on had trouble with driving because the shape meant a lot of the weight was forward of the wheels, which screwed the turning up...
...I'm pretty sure there have been many 2WD robots (including vapours) with heavier fronts that have had little problems driving around. People who put ballasts in the front of their robots, for example (even if there's nothing for the ballast to balance out)

    That is all.

I knew they were called A40-300s, I told you that when it happened, hehe ;P I've just been too endemically lazy to update all the stats pages to reflect that.

Your first point's decent although I don't know about Wedginator having the more controlled drive as there's nothing saying I need to use the top speed ;P and the range of angles would be a bit bigger than directly head on, then there's the skirts...your second point about the skirts not being 100% is fair enough though. The third point I would argue since there's a *big* difference between adding a bit of ballast to keep the front weighed down at the calculated expense of some traction, and what the issue with Envy was which was that the shape itself was inherently quite badly balanced more so than adding ballast to a normal robot would have managed.

Anyway, let's settle this in the arena ^^ hehe

    THAT'S UNFAIR

erm...attack either one, though Gabriel more since if he 'wedges' me I'll likely fall right off the side. :P stay well away from the pit, try and get them OOTA

after the match we gang up on Paul for not allowing house robots in it

    Tictacs:

I should be able to get up to near enough 500 rpm before anyone gets too close so I'll be difficult to hold onto/be flipped without the opposition taking a fair whack. Translate away from the big scary disc behind me into more open space and increase spin speed to the maximum 2000 rpm if possible. Then attack whoever's closest, aiming to remove the opponents skirt's  and bending weapon arms so they can't get under me as easily..

Should I stop spinning, ram things into hazards until I get a chance to run away and spin up again.

Unless, of course anyone want's to team up

    Predictions:

I'd say Gabriel V, Wedginator X and Hypertension to go through due to the lowish walls.

Not sure about the other one but I would like Psychosis to go through because it can't get under me

    Good luck to all.

If you want to I'd happily team up Jordan!

Regardless of whether the answer is yes or no, I'll keep my distance from All Bar One - Equinox doesn't like spinners. I'll focus my attacks on Empty Inside - my forks should breach it's skirts relatively easily, and then I can clamp it and feed it to All Bar One or pit it.

    Good luck guys!
