No ones made an official knightmare copy due to the fact jim the guy who owns it in the US didnt want anyone copying it... Someone over here asked him once if they could do it and got a reply regarding lawyers etc...
Could always make something loosely based around it?
Something with a mix of St hammer and nightmare would be an interesting design
how do people make the FW versions of HW bots? do rhey just look at the designs and guess or acually contact the original builders?

A lot of them are actually the teams themselves, are they not? DTK > Dantomkia, Kitty > Pussycat, etc
It's not too difficult. I don't know what other people do but for some of my half-finished attempts in the past I just got a note of the dimensions of the HW as well as a good few pictures and then just went with what looked right. A cardboard mock-up or two never goes astray and can be good to judge whether you've got the look pretty accurate.
Doesn't sound hard when you put it that way, I think something taking the best elements from a few bots could make somethig good, but that's not the idea of replicas
