you shouldn't need them, but i cant see how your failsafe works if your using a AR6200, as they go to last posistion held (apart from throttle channel, which we dont normally use for drive). If you go full throttle, then very slightly back off does it run ok? It could be that you have too much travel and therefore is going out of range and causing the speedos to failsafe. What TX are you using?

The AR6110/6110e also seem to have full failsafe, and I think the AR500 is also fine?

the AR5000 stops outputting on all channels when it losses a signal, therefore using the built in failsafes on speedos etc. I think most of the newer spektrum rx's do this. The way people have got around it is by having a remote kill on the failsafed channel, therefore shutting the robot down when it losses signal.

No, just put a switch near your link.

Just remember to turn it off after a battle. Robots usually just have their links removed by the arena marshal during disarming as they probably have no idea who has receiver batteries and who has a BEC, so if you use an rx battery, that switch will most likely be left on after the fight. Not handy in your next fight if you suddenly conk out due to forgetting to turn your battery off and it going flat!
