Battleswitch

Am I right in thinking a battleswitch will only give on and off rather than on (up), off, on (down) that I'd need for a double acting cylinder?

a battleswitch is just on ,off. so when stick is up battleswitch allows power to the solenoid valve thus allowing co2 to get to bottom the ram and the flipper fires. i assume you're using a 5/2 solenoid/spring valve, when the stick is down the battleswitch cuts off the power to the solenoid valve, the solenoid valve is moved back into its original position by the spring and co2 is allowed to the top of the ram to bring it down.

it's a bit complicated to explain but basically a battleswitch will work fine for controlling a double acting ram on a 5/2 solenoid/spring valve. i beleive there is a diagram on the internet about how this works but i can't remember what website it is on, i'll see if i can find it for you.
