Been planning to get some Robochallenge wheels for the new Daiske, but before I order them thought i'd get a consensus of what wheels were actually best for a feather. The don't need the nut insert so that opens up a lot more doors than when using drill motors. Does anyone else use or recommend any other types of wheels? I know the Banebots ones were also available, how do they match up?
What motors? Can you make your own hubs? Which arena?
24v Gold, First arena they'll be in will be Robots Live. Right now its just Robochallenge wheels on a separate shaft so something that would preferable just be a direct replacement.
Would that sort of thing do for example?

Not as an improvement, those look like the harder-than-robochallenge compound wheels B&Q sell, better to stick with what you've got. There's usually a lot of debris in the heavyweight arenas so softer rubber probably wouldn't be advantageous (might even get dust stuck to it..) but for the Robochallenge arena maybe worth trying a softer compound banebots (http://www.technobotsonline.com/banebot ... re-40.html or even http://www.technobotsonline.com/banebot ... re-30.html) for increased grip.
Thes one's I've got aren't quite big enough, only 73mm(I think) and I will need at least 100mm, possibly 125mm. I don't think Banebots do big enough wheels then sadly. Is there anything similar out there?

I'd recommend going higher than the 30 shore bane bots wheels. Used them in boner past comp. Going to have to replace them. They are exceptionally soft and grippy but to the point that they deform with finger pressure. The outer rubber is torn to bits.
I have a number of those grey ones, very hard rubber, almost like plastic.
I remember you mentioning that to me at the Champs, they don't seem to have any in the right size at anything more durable than the Shore 30, which I also seem to remember you telling me at the champs.
Could just go for the Robochallenge ones and see how they work out, do you think 100mm's with bike tyre on would be better or 125's without?
