the more information you can give on what you want, the more help you can get, do you want a simple cheap robot that will just trundle around the arena and be cheap to repair, or a big expensive complicated thing, what kind of budget do you have, £200? £250? £500?

yo this guy is my friend from school i'm going round to his tomoz to show him wat he needs.
His budget is £250 to build a feather rambot and an ant

If you look around you might be able to find some cheaper radio gear i got mine for £19 inc. P&P just looking around on here.

go spectrum from the start, i bourght budget things to start with and it has cost me more as i had to buy everything twice
