well that's the most tubular thing i've seen today, did you get motors with it or is it just empty? what's the armour?
as for the stickers, scottish flags! scottish flags everywhere!
Nay danger Alex, cheers  So what I really want to be writing on there is Hallowraer China to keep it authentic?
It has the weapon motor and assembly Jonny, but the motors and wheels are the ones I got from you a few years ago, but they don't seem to quite fit, i'll need to have another look at that but they seem a bit on the big side.
Armour I reckon is HDPE, the wheel guards are steel and polycarb I think too. Speaking of that, the wheels seem a touch small, like they wouldn't have enough clearance when its inverted, it maybe it was just because the motors aren't quite fitting.
Quick update:
Jamie has been up here over the long weekend so we've been working on the robots and getting some good progress. Mostly on T-Bone and Eric
We're looking to get all the robots ready for this saturday, photos will come soon, Jamie has a fair few of them, but just keeping a checklist for now.
Chimera - Display complete
Eric - Nearly running
Scar - Display complete
T-Bone - Nearly running, ready for display on saturday
Cicatrix - Complete
Eric Jr - Lot of work to do
Rover - Complete
2/7 isn't bad for me![]()
It's good parenting to give your robot a bath every now and then

What is T-Bones weapon? I remember it being a saw blade at the tip of the T but I may have been wrong... are we allowed any kind of spinning weapon in the RR arena?
roboteers are not allowed to use spinners in the RR arena
No you're right Alex, but the disc is on Matilda and would have been banned anyway. Took us about 2 hrs to get the disc mech out on monday. At the moment i'm just going to use the scoop on the back as the weapon, but we're a bit away from that at the moment, been concentrating on Eric.
On T-Bone, we basically stripped it down to each individual component then started rebuilding. Made some motor mounts and painted the mounts and scoop brackets then went about replacing the lettering, pictures and hazard tape. Should be ready for saturday, then depending on how Eric is doing i'll come back to it next week and see about the event a week on sunday.
On Eric, Either the belts are slipping from design or they have stretched over the past 14 years or whatever it is since Eric last ran. The idea was to have them running over some plastic blocks, but I found they ran better have a tensioner on the top and bottom of the belt rather than just on the bottom. So, i've made a kind of tensioner ring out of HDPE for each belt and it seems to be working pretty well. Now to test it on the ground, but can't really lift it myself.
Strangely, before the test we were fitting the batteries that were going to be a total nightmare, that was until Jamie spotted the huuuuge batteries I had stashed in the Dalek and we tried them out, and it was literally made for them! Perfect fit for 2 of them inside the robot, and it gives us a massive 34Ah capacity at 12v. Will probably go for 17Ah at 24v instead, if the tensioners hold up.
The weapon probably won't be working for Edinburgh, the complex hydraulics are a bit above my head so will need to talk to someone in the know about them, hopefully one of our hydraulics experts will be present at RL Edinburgh![]()
Here's a video of it at the moment, sorry its upside down!:

Surprisingly, it looks like my tensioners are actually going to work. Had a test drive today going on the flat as well as up an down a small hill, just to make sure nothing was going to slip. Seems ok so far, so now just have to rebuilt the armour and we're all done, for the moment.

Now to concentrate on Eric Jr, which is in bits and has to be ready by tomorrow night. Ahh well....
