Hardox?

well 500mmx 500mm square of 5mm thick weighs 10kg approx, you can work out the density from there (too tired to think right now)

thanks for your help, but what grade should I use? Hardox 400, Hardox 450 and Hardox 500 are the only types that come in a thin enough sizes but what would be the best and what do other people use?

Most of the Dutch robots that use Hardox, use Hardox 450 in 1/8 thick sheet.

4.5m² was about £380 last time we ordered. (3 sheets of 1.5m², part of a full 6*2.5m plate)
