Since my motor from the wheel chair is useless im trying to find Bosch 750's or alternatives which I'm not sure what they are.
What are the alternatives to 750's or were can I buy probably second hand 750's?

I believe you'll find that they only offer a Brazilian alternative.

A list of alternative motors. Typhoon robots used the 800w iskra motors. Very nice motors, smaller than a bosch weighing only 2.5kg and completely sealed. Not sure how the like for like comparison goes though.
how do things like car starter motors etc and wiper motor compare?
are they usable for robots? and can i get some ok speed out of them?
Starter motors...if you want lots of power and pretty good speed and torque at low voltage, they're great. If, on the other hand, you would like to go in both forwards and backwards directions without modifying the motor, use sensibly sized wires as opposed to ones that resemble very fat snakes, draw currents under 200 amps, use batteries weighing less than about 15-20 kilograms, and have proportional speed control without having to use massive 2kg each 4QDs, then you might want to look elsewhere :P
Windscreen wiper motors have been used in featherweights and been found to be a bit slow in them...heavyweights have used them, but you end up with speeds somewhere around 2-4mph and not a great deal of torque as they're about 50 watts maximum, so I'd avoid them too.
(I know the Bosch 750 was often described as a 'truck windscreen wiper motor' but it isn't, it really isn't :P)
i had really better start saving then
i got a quote of £216 for 2 Bosch 705's including postage
wipers NO.
Starter motors ..yes and NO
if you get really lucky you'll be able to find a bosch 750 in a lorry refrigeration unit. to the scrapyard![]()
