Thread: Wheel chair motors, batteries and wheels

  1. #31
Your robot would go three times as fast but have 1/3 the torque and less pushing power

  2. #32
its hard, i need some more speed out of the motor (probably) yet i also need torque.

what is the best to have more of? torque or speed?

  3. #33
well if you don't have enough torque you won't be able to move. best to aim for 10mph speed (unless it's a ram bot) and hopefully you'll have the torque to move the robot around

its a single motord wheel chair from a rascel 205 with diff and top speed at maximum 154kg load of 7 miles per hour running at 12v but ill be running at 18v in the bot

  5. #35
well if it has a 7mph top speed at 12v giving it 18v will make it go at 1.5 times the speed so you'll get 10.5mph out of it anyway

  6. #36
how are you going to use the motor/gearbox if its only a single motor?

  7. #37
its a single motor yet with the diff its able to drive both motors and can turn on the spot, i really dont know how it works but it does

  8. #38
And now thinking logically I have realised that the motors is completely useless since It only does foward and back!!!!

I got free wheels basically and that's it. I need to somehow find another of the same motor of a rascal 205 and then strip the diff off it to leave me with just the two motors or downswing on the price, I might just go the old bosch 705w route

Where is the best place to buy 750's?

I'll give them a ring tomorow and see what price they are
