Hi All,
Wanted to let you know that the new Scorpion XXL is finished and entering production as soon as we can get the production PCBs in house.
This unit is larger than the Scorpion XL at 2.25 x 3.25 x .4 Will post pictures on Monday or so.
Power is increased over the old XXL and only a single layer of chips with heatsinks is used for increased reliability. The new unit does 20A continuous with no fan. 25A for 2 min. with no fan. 31A+ continuous with fan (tested for >15 min) at 100% PWM. Need to get larger battery to test peak current with fan. Probably >40A for short peaks. These figures are all for each motor channel.
Some new features:
- Switching power supply so no HV jumper or worries about voltage. More efficient and more current for 2.4G receivers
- Remote on-off switch connections
- Dip switch for options - no jumpers
- Button to enter cal mode
- Available plastic enclosure
- Victor/Simple-H style screw terminals for power connections using fork style crimp on terminals.
- Crystal on CPU chip for temp. stability
- Fan connections on PCB
- Lipo cutoff mode
- New Coast mode along with the normal Brake mode at zero speed
- Serial and RC software standard
Price will be similar to the old XXL. Not set quite yet.
hmmm interesting thanks Woody
Order for 2 XL's now placed
Cheers Tony. Amazing how my parts-recycling philosophy goes straight out the window waaaaay before I even get paid!
I think its a desire to win, this could be the one component that makes Carcinus a world beater haha
