I cant seem to make my ants under 150g, I just cant find light and cheap parts (although I found a 6g reciever and transmitter for £49.99)

Any parts you guys would recommend? I've made two ants in the past, One was 240g and the other was 260g (It had an axe)

another more powerful servo for flipper axe=£5-£10 ish

if you have more money to spend then:

2x 50:1 high power gear motors: £13 ea
2.4ghz giant cod tx and rx: £25
    7.4v 2 cell lipo: £3
    peter waller speed controller: £35
    hs82mg flipper/axe servo: £14 ish
    1mm thick polycarb/ carbon fibre/ titanium

what components/ armour were your other ants made of?

Graham had 3mm polycarbonate (Only rear and bottom armour though, The axe seemed to work well at protecting the front) and Scutlet V3 had wafer thin plastic. Scutlet V3 ran on 4 x AA batteries, two Acoms servos and a Acoms 24Mhz controller and reciever. Graham ran on a 6v NimH battery, 2 speed hacked servos for drive and a normal servo for the axe, a Planet 2.4Ghz controller and reciever. I will post pictures sometime.

Hey Jack, drop me an e-mail at razerdave@hotmail.com, I have a few surplus batteries and other bits that you will find a lot more suitable for ants.

i agree with Harry, the only problems i have had is a pack shorting out whilst i was soldering (and even then it just puffed up) or dropping below their minimum charge rate, they are excellent if you use them properly

also Harry, any chance i could buy some of those old nimh batterys off you XD need some and my source has dried up
