For those on DSM2 transmitters like the DX6i/DX7/DX5e:
The Receiver is $80 USD, but a wortwhile alternative to the BR6000.Preset Failsafe
The AR6255 features preset failsafe on all channels. Preset failsafe is ideal for
sailplanes, allowing the aircraft to automatically dethermalize if the signal is lost. With
preset failsafe, all channels will go to their preset failsafe positions if the signal is
lost, preventing a flyaway.
Yes the BR6000 is now discontinued. We are now stocking the new AR6255 and will add them to our store shortly.
I have just had a look on ebay for the br6255 and an official Spektrum dealer states: Note: The AR6255 receiver is not compatible with the Spektrum DX6 parkflyer transmitter
Has anyone tested them on a DX6?
Mike.
They wont work with the standard DX6 as it is a DSM2 RX.
They will however work with the DX6i and all other Spektrum TX's for Air use.
Spektrum are now fading out all of the now out of date DSM1 technology.
Pardon my ignorance, but what was the difference between DSM and DSM 2 technology ?
clears that up then![]()

DSM2 is the newer, better protocol over the origional spektrum DSM system. DSM2 is incompatible with DSM, but DSM rx's are compatible with most DSM2 tx's.
