was trying out my radio gear today with servos. alls fine but when i put the mixer into the set up, the servos are very jittery. the mixer was a cheap one from ebay but i want to ask the stupid question that will a good quality mixer get rid of the jitteryness or is it a common problem with mixers?

its weird. say i apply 100% forward, the servos (im just testing the radio gear at the mo so imagine the servos are the speed controllers) go to the correct positions but rather than in 1 smooth movement, it does it fairly jittery but they do settle at the correct position after a second. i guess the question im asking is is this an issue with mixers in general or have i bought a dud and a good quality mixer will do the trick of mixing the channels in a smoother way?

yep. servo movement is perfect without mixer plugged in. i just wanna know if all mixers make the servo (or speed controller) slightly jittery?
What battery are you using?
I have a feeling that you might be running the mixer at too high a voltage which can cause the servos to hunt backwards and forwards. Running the mixer off of a small regulator or the correct resistor should rectify the problem but it will mean that your servos are also running on a lower voltage so your robot will be a bit slower. This (if you want to) can be fixed by attaching the power leads from the servo (well, the red one anyway) to the battery for full voltage to the servos and a limited voltage to the mixer.

im using 6v? ive ordered a GWS mixer so hopefully that will sort the problem
