    on the bearing front im not to sure but as its the weapon id say using the bulkheads or what ever and a pin should be fine

    depends what your drilling in and into what???

    for example a screw into wood can often be put in with no hole

    but going into metal your best off to use bolts an 'tap' the hole before which first needs to be drilled.

    Update time

    Good news, my weapon motor has arrived at last. The way it's going to work is, I'm going to put a worm gear on the motor and have a shaft with a gear going across, well that's the idea.[attachment=0:hfn8g2ts]motor.jpg[/attachment:hfn8g2ts]

    And I may have found a supplier for 2014 aluminium, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

    So I'm looking at different materials I can use instead, like 5mm Aluminium Plate from technobots or Polycarbonate and so on.

    It really depends on how I build the chassis, which is built in box section.

    Update

    It's been some time since my last update. So all the parts are coming together slowly, all I need now is 5mm Aluminium Plate for the base of the chassis, 12mm RG1000 for the bulkheads and Scorpion XL speed controller for the drive.

    For the arm I have some ideas on how to build it, one is to weld three pieces of Aluminum together, but I need a mig welder and i have no experience with welding or I can bend some thinner RG1000 or I can screw it with a hardox top who knows.

    This is the layout of Rukia. If you're wondering why there is three different size wheels, I was just buying random just to see what there like.

    Good to see the actuator arrived
    When I posted it I had visions of it being caught up in the Christmas backlog and being lost for the remainder of time.

    Update

    Just showing the layout and as you can see, there's a different linear actuator. This is one I had for some time, and it was faulty but I got it working.

    The linear actuator has a 4 inch stroke that can fully extend in 3 seconds and can lift 40kg.
    The way that the actuator is going to make the arm move is identical to Biohazards. It saves space But I don't know how I'm going to make the part I need.

    At this time all I need now is the Scorpion XL Speed Controller, but were I was going to order it from is out of stock.

    At this point I feel frustrated,down and baffled this is what I get for trying to run before I can walk.

    I'm going replace the bearing with the grub screws with the smaller deep groove bearing, why? well to save space I'm going to mount the bearing in a block of RG 1000 with a grub screws hope it works.

    I like this wheel because it's thin and great grip, and best of all it saves space.

    Are you sure that 40kg is going to be enough. I mean when I was looking at a four bar lifter, I noticed that biohazard had nearly 2800 pounds of force in the actuators to just about lift 220 pounds.

    That's why I really didn't want to go for it.

    That & I really did not fancy cutting that many bars!

    I'm only criticising because I care though - you'll work it through. Good luck

    I appreciate your concern, all I can do is try to cut out some bars with a jigsaw, from the 5mm aluminium plate which I hope works.
    I don't know how I'm going to make the bars connect with the steel shaft. My guest is to insert some grub screws, which I assume you drill a hole and insert them.

    The arm it's self, I still don't know how I'm going to make it but, I'll think of some thing. If this does not work then I can change bulkheads and put an axe on it. It will give me a chance to use, one of my speed 900s or I can make it just a rambot for now.

    I appreciate some tips and guidance.

    It's been a while since my last update.

    I made some progress, I cut down more of the chassis and cut up the plastic to make the bulkheads, they still some work on them but not much.

    As you can see there's still a lot of space, but hey it's my first robot.

    The only thing I worry about is the arm, I don't think it's going to work but I hope that it will surprise me.
