Best Driver Around?

Anyone can win driving Beauty, even me John. Drive something hard to control like 360 then you may claim the best driver award (Dave probably won't let you drive it though!)

I think that the drive system is the main weapon - maybe a big reason as to why beauty2 has been so good over the years.

Would love to drive 360 ye - but as you say can't see dave letting me ha.

Would love to drive Thz, big nipper, storm2 , razer, typhoon, saint - these are some of the robots I reckon will need the most skill to drive - all there drivers have mastered them to.

A case could probably be made for Jack Evans - of Terrior, Terrorizer, Terrordactyl, etc. - in my opinion (anyone who's seen how fast his robots are will know what I mean, he can control them when they're going from one side of the arena to the other faster than I can blink)

Joey as well is getting better every event, im finding it cool that the young guys are getting just as good as the older guys alex (tiny toon) and matt hunt (hunter) are good young drivers as well. thats not to take anything away from the adults though the iron awe guys are as good as ever, and big nipper is very nicely controlled, George Francis for me the best driver of the robot wars era.

im learning as well, never gonna be as good as the other guys but im getting there :wink: Harry and Ben are gaining confidence as well....now just need to turn up with a decent robot...

but i recon the ones to watch are Jamie (drumroll) and Will (team shock) both doing well in the featherweights (and in will's case, heavyweights!)

Gary certainly impressed me at Technogames and the Typhoon spinners must have been trickier than most to drive. I don't know about some of the robots listed by John as needing a lot of skill. anything with 4WD seems to be easier if there's enough power to 'skid' effectively. Terrorhurtz always seems very precisely driven and Jonno is extremely good- lots of practice! Andy's son is really good with Kan Opener too. Back in the day George and Kim were probably the best, Andy Marchant was very good too, as was Mr Adams with the 'Thing' series. Narrow 2WD robots tend to be the trickiest to keep on line, so driving something like that well is fairly impressive.

Currently the best drivers around have got to be Ian Thomas and his partner from the tag team champs last year.If those 2 guys can get 2 rambots to the semi finals against all of those so called top class spinners and flippers they must be pretty special in my eyes.

would definatly say the hardest type of robot to drive are 2 wheel drive with the wheels at the front

when your used to 2 wheel drive with the wheels at the back or in the middle it just handles completly different
