New secret weapon for Tron next year![]()

BE WARNED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got your mojo back have we ????
Started fitting up Tron with the new idea. It is basically an electro-magnet with about 40KG attraction (400N) as Tron is A good pusher the idea is to make it a puller too. the magnet is attached to some rubber belt similar to that wrapped round Saint, the idea is it will adjust to the different angles of the armour of the opposition. I don't think anyone's tried this before so I thought I would give it a go.

I thought it was a spinning bar weapon for a second! I think I actually made a  face. A magnet would be cool, however, and as far as I'm aware unique as a weapon. This is legal as a weapon, though, isn't it? I get the impression it could cause major internal damage, especially with such a massive pull?
Or maybe that's the point.![]()
Dan was playing around with a similar idea and seemed quite keen until I pointed out that it would be ineffective against Ali, Ti (wood) or any of the plastics (Polycarb, Nylon, HDPE) which are pretty popular in robots.
I'm assuming it would work against Hardox and obviously any steel used and I don't see Nickel or Cobalt catching on as robot armour.....
got a data sheet or any more information on that magnet Craig?
Looks Cool Craig,
If it ends up not being very good you can always call it tron legacy![]()

some answers
The north and south poles are on the same side (the front) so the magnetic field is very small the armour of the opponent robot would serve as the keeper,
I doubt if much if any of the magnetic flux would penetrate too far into the robot, so it will not cause any problem.
I know about the wooden or plastic robots but even these have some parts that could be steel on the outside and I'm feeling lucky!
If we don't try new things we could end up with a field of wedge flippers![]()

Thanks craig!
Jonny- i doubt it would cause much of an issue... in 360 ive got the rx double sided taped down on top of its magnet running right next to a big brushless motor... and ive never had interfearance issues![]()
