Hi Ben
tecnobots do robot servos wich if you bolt lego wheels on them you have drive.

(3rd down)
you could just use normal servos for the lifter

(one of those should do it)![]()
Hi Ben,
The Technobots servos might be a bit heavy for an Antweight as they are over 60g each, I recommend you take a look at the RobotWars101 forum at http://www.robotwars101.org/phpBB
Its more Antweight orientated and there is an FAQ section which will answer some of your questions and show you popular places to buy parts from
Good luck!
what kind of thickness aliminum should i use for the armour
'What thinkness of aluminium should I use as armour?'
Answer: Don't. Aluminium is really not great ant armour, 1mm can be used but against a spinner would get fairly easily chewed up, and by the time you've thicked it up enough to withstand the attacks, you'd have been better off with 0.5mm Titanium or 2-4mm HDPE
I am using aluminium as my armour and i would disagree
my ant weight armour is pretty tough and it is relatively cheap.
However I read somewhere that it can be a max of 1mm thick
because its metal armour but you know that might be dogey info.
The rules changed last year to abolish that rule about armour thickness, so you can have as thick as you like. Has your ant been in with spinners with 1mm Ali armour ?
mine hasnot pretty
I have...I find that the hardened aluminium I use is quite resistant to surface damage, but it bends easily if the spinner can grab something sticking out or an edge. (so use countersunk bolts)
Plastic tends to be a lot better though as it's 'springier' and can absorb more of the energy of the impact by flexing.
It has not fought a spinner robot but i have
made a prototype test spining disc and did tests that way
also hitting it with a mallet does very little however i don't know
where you are coming from if youre using titanium or somthing smilar
that will be better of course, seeing as I am relativly new I think if someone
else is sure take there advice.
