Ok things seem to be getting a little bit heated so lets all just take a chill pill and discuss this rationally
If you can show me a way to provide the same level or better of safety that 5mm of polycarb in a grade 2 arena or 10mm in a grade 1 whilst providing the same visibility to the audience, judges, eos and roboteers then I am all ears. Polycarb is a good material as it is lightweight, flexes under shocks and is good with both piercing and blunt blows at high speed and is transparent. Why do you assume I would be compromising on safety?have I explained my ideas to you?-no!
One thing that I seen in the US that was interesting was that the EOs would sell their old arena polycarb off to the roboteers for around 60% of the price of the new sheet. So they only have to pay another 40% for a new sheet for the sidewall and the roboteers get a cheap material for armour
