Rumour?

I heard i rumour that robot wars was coming back for an 8th series on 29th march 2011. Is there any truth in this?

Where exactly are you hearing these rumours??

i think it originates from wiki answers which means there is little truth in it but on youtube and facebook people keep posting more information about it but im not really convinced, i just posted it to see if anyone knew anything about it.

Not correct there John, If something was happening in the pipeline we would be one of the last to know.
The FRA would also only find out when the roboteers did aswell, most likely from some other internet source.

TV companies decide to do things last minute, when they've got an idea it takes them a LOOOONNNNG time to go from idea, to exactly how its going to work - the last thing they want is for roboteers and the FRA to try and butt in and tell them to do things our way to make it easier for us rather than their way to make to a good TV show. We would only be notified just before the show is to be filmed, so we have just enough time to get somethijng built. They will keep it quiet untill then if something was to happen.

So with that being said, who knows what theyre planning? The Gadget Show episode deffinatly seems to have picked up alot of interest in Robot Wars again and hopefully that will have helped with ticket sales for events recently -r maybe that could be used as an excuse to lever our way back into a TV show. Jason Bradbury said on twitter fronting Robot Wars would be his dream Job...... The interest is still out there.

Maybe all the EO's should have a petition to sign at every event they do from all the audience members to try and prove theirs enough interest still there lol.

I said it on another post but I find it hard to believe that a channel like Dave wouldn't want the show... considering some of the crap they show... Have any EOs ever tried to contact them? Could get a budget and a whole new arena and everything...

dave has a habit of buying shows from other channels once they have been shown. Top gear being a prime example. This is far cheaper for the channel than creating a show straight out the bat.
