Thread: Bungee for a FP Flipper

  1. #1
We are currently building a new FP flipper and are looking for a supplier for a bungee to stop and return the flipper arm.

We found this supplier on ebay and they sell a variety of different thicknesses- Would 10mm thick be strong enough? The flipper will have quite a lot of force and since the arm weighs over a kilo we will need something pretty strong.

Can anyone recommend any other types of bungee or a better supplier?

    Thanks

In my opinion it depends on how many strands your going to use. The less strands the thicker you will need. We weren't sure what to use either so we picked up a small roll from a local hardware shop. We are currently using 8 strands of 6mm which seems to work okay on mAlice.

Thats the same supplier that I used last time. I use 12mm just one loop so two strands effectivley.

10 or 12mm should be fine its only ment to pull the flipper back down depends how tight your ram is

Hi guys, pressure and other bots use 12mm bungy.
I buy it on 50m rolls from a wholesaler.
I usually take some to events, call or e-mail me before the next one and I will make sure I have some with me.
    Mike.
PS how much does everyone pay per metre?

Toxic 2 has been using 2 x 12mm bungees which i have been going through sometimes in 1 fight.
ive also used 4 x 8mm bungees but found they didnt stretch enough, this time my new 12mm bungees x 2 will go round some roller bearings so they dont wear through so fast and still have the strenth to pull the flipper down faster, i hope !.
