Just the saturday and Toon Raider will be coming as long as it survives Guildford next weekend

Liam Stagefright and Tiny Toon came off 2nd best at Norwich to Battleaxe. Stagefright is in 3 pieces, the base plate was split in 2 and the Ti chasis now is no longer welded together. Tiny Toon was thumped directly above the sidewinder crushing the hardox down onto the speedo, with luck i will be able to straighten out the lid and get it working in time, and the ali base is now bowed in the middle.

Just back, well done Team Mad for putting on a great show and thanks to everyone who helped out with my problems I kept getting with Pug and Storm Force, U know who's all are

    My fights :
Storm Force : First fight had to rely on brute force against Toon Raider & Apocalypse after the crew weren't sure about the weapon system. All went well until I was flipped on my side and despite the shape couldn't self-right but we managed to get the weapons sorted out after the battle and I got to test the axe out on Merlin, made a nice wee dent on the top of Merlin  Next fight against 3 other robots, had to leave it in the corner only because I accidentally knocked the code for the briefcase my TX and link were in and because I didn't know the code, had to bust it open, but it was too late. Next battle against Big Nipper and Kronic, never got to use my weapons at all as one flip from Kronic was enough to dislodge one of the relays from a motor

Pug : Had 5 fights. First fight where I was doing well lifting LF3 off the ground but then it was all over when my batterys fell out (AGAIN!!!!) where they got damaged and had to be taken outside. Next fights I was thrown rapidly out the arena by LF3, then the next battle was immobilised by Battle Axe and flung into the pit. Ah well

Apart from all of that, a few thank yous have to be said to the Big Nipper team for helping me out with my batteries after they got damaged, Jamie and David for sorting out the other issues with Pug and Alan, Ed, David and many more for helping me get SF's weapons working, you know who you all are

What a great way to spend a weekend!
A nice relaxed event in a good venue in a fantastic country

Many thanks to the RobotsLive! crew for the organisation and running of the weekend. Thanks to Mark for letting me drive LF3 and to Alan and Ed for getting UFO ready so I could try my hand at the heavyweights. I have to say, I can definitely see the attraction with gas-powered flippers; I think Jason summed it up perfectly on the Gadget Show when he described them as having a raw instantaneous power. But you can get that with spinners too so I'll be sticking to them for now!
Bowling on Saturday was great, football on Sunday was great. Unfortunately I buggered one knee by walking into a door on Saturday and buggered my other knee joint while us Scots lost 4-1 at football against the Auld Enemy
So I'm hobbling around like an invalid at the moment.
Also, saw a guy having a look into the pits after one of the shows and went over to have a chat, see if he enjoyed the show etc and it turned out to be Ivar Bundulis, one of the builders of Pitbull from Series 3 of RW, so that was cool hearing his experiences from the show.

All in all, a fantastic weekend for my first RL event; sorted out with some car stickers now

    Hey guys

I enjoyed the event as pretty much a spectator since I only got 1 fight with Satanix before it started breaking bits and I thought it unsuitable to run, but still, went bowling, had Pizza Hut, played air hockey* and pool, and had a bit of football too, and in the meatime I was trying to fix Liam's robots with some considerable help from the Big Nipper boys (Cheers Mark and Graeme).

Satanix did ok in its only fight, came 2nd out of 11 robots and managed to immobilise 2 (Tiny Toon, got wedged down the arena wall, and Carcinus, pushed it down the pit), and (we think) I put a hole through Pug's batteries, we can't decide if I did it or Little Hitter did, but we think I did.

    * = Don't play Air hockey with Mark or Graeme, they will try and take your head off with the puck!
