does anyone know of, or use a dvd ripper software which is totally free realiable (won't crash) and will produce good quality results?
i have tried a few downloads i have found a decent one however the trial period is over...others i have tried are awful

I have tried many and all have been awful (havent successfully ripped one dvd yet), Id just find a torrent with your desired dvd on it :blush: .
Not sure if it's exactly what you're after but there is a free version of nero 9 (nero 9 lite)

Depending on your OS, You might want to try out Handbrake. Unfortunately it's only for mac, but it is very good for ripping from DVDs, with no watermarks or limitations
i remember using one but i cant remember the name of it.

Handbrake IMHO is the best. Besides OSX, it works on Linux and Windows.
