Team ARC has all their stats in.
I would post something here about how I'd like Martijn and Kody to get their stats in before the New Year, but with FanFic grinding to a halt, I'm willing to roll out some slack.
Therefore, entry deadlines for Kody(All stats) and Martijn(ARC stats) will be January 4, 2010. 1 week from today.
Hey everyone, it's Area51Escapee over from ARC. I just entered my bot for the tourney and decided to check out FRA. As I was reading this thread, I was puzzled about something. What exactly was the feud between ARC and FRA? I've been on ARC since the beginning of its formation and pretty active in all areas and I have no idea about such a thing. If it's the Joey vs. Philip thing, that was just a one-on-one thing and definitely wasn't reflective on the community. Most of the ARC mods found it to be a silly fight, actually.
Don't get the wrong idea, though. I'm not trying to start a fight or anything and I'm not angry, just curious basically. I'm glad you guys are treating this as a friendly tournament and not taking it too seriously, but I was just wondering about this. Thanks.
BTW, I'll try to hang out here more often. Seems like a cool place.

From what I can tell, the ARC/FRA feud began with a flamewar between between Alex MacWilliams(Siphai), Dave Sheppard(DaveS) and Anthony Politzi(PanicAttackY2K/Swiss_Tony). It started with this post:

Dave, we've discussed this before. Enough with this toni @!##. It's not funny, and you and some @!## from ARC are the only ones who DO find it funny. I've made you stop in the past, and I can easily do it again. So knock it off already.

Tony:NO WAIT! Next season for ARC 4, it is going to become a whole load more complicated. The stats you see now; Speed, Torque, Weapon and Armour, are now going to be split in sub-categories as well as dimensions included.
Let's not forget that you have to Role-Play or post tactics about your fights. Where the RP's have to be extremely diverse picking on if's when's and how the battle is going to be played. Consider this place, a lot less detailed than ARC.

Why were you actually arguing that a design would work, against people who have built and seen actual robots in combat and in the pits. People who have seen the blueprints of robots being made. Your designs were based on what you though might work, on a whim but they honestly would not.

just want to say here that i have no problem with arc or the fra, and if the preivious post sounded a bit full on (i would edit it but i cant, thats the one thing i dont like about this forum kane XD) all i ment was that the idea for a fra vs arc tornament is cool, i just think we should try to avoid more flamewars, and that past conflicts are, well, just that past conflicts, because i dont think anybody here wants to fight (and if you do may i sugest taking up rugby, or American football? :wink: )

I beat him before. I can beat him again. This time, his flipper won't do much because I'll be pretty much the same right side up or upside-down. Because of the way his front is, and my wedges are hinged, he won't properly be able to get completely under me from the front; he'll just flip the wedges and that will do nothing. I have a more powerful drive than he does as well, so he won't win in a pushing match either. Plus he can't stack me thanks to the spikes.
Right, that's what he can't do to me, now for what I'm going to do to it...
I have greater speed, torque, and manoeuvrability than he does, so I can easily get to his side. That I will do. Simply get there, or his rear if I can manage it. Since there are no house robots, I will open the pit first and get him down it. If said situation occurs where we lock horns, push him straight ahead. If the pit's nearby, great! He can't flip me properly from the front so I have no problem going after his front either. There's no way he can really damage me either with a flipper so that's good. And oh yeah, be careful around the pit, I don't want to fall in myself. :P
Summary: Attack him completely. Be aggressive the whole match since there's not a lot he can do to me. Ultimately get him down the pit.
Now write us some good fights, Mark, okay?
