Thread: SLA batteries ASAP

  1. #1
Hi I'm looking to buy some good SLA 18Amp batteries for Saint, Technobots is having difficulty with its supplier at the moment and I'm down to just 2 sets (I like to have 3 or 4 sets ready to go) If you are going to Maidstone tomorrow could you bring them (preferably charged) that would be great.

    Thanks

    Hey,

I have a couple of 12V 13Ah hawkers sitting in my shed not doing much? I may also have an 18Ah hawker as well. I did have two but one gave up the ghost

Many thanks for all the kind offers of Hawker batteries, I have found they don€™t work very well in Saint I think the insides of these batteries are a little fragile for Saint.

The ones I am looking for are the grey electric vehicle type like Technobots sell made by Camden or Haze,

I have been trying to get them from Technobots but they have been having real problems with their supplier. So I was looking for a couple of these batteries second hand to tied me over till Technobots can supply me with some new units.
    thanks

Craig, you can get the Camden batteries from CPC, Rapid or JPR Electronics. I think Rapid were the cheapest if i remember but they dont seem to have either type in stock (i tried about a month ago and struggled) but CPC show them in stock, but they are abit more expensive. CPC also do some cheap SLA chargers, i got a 5amp 24v on for about £40 and seems to work fine.

No worries. Lol I'm surprised they couldn't survive, these ones survived the inside of typhoon 2

We had alot of problems with the hawkers failing in Merlin, at one point we were scrapping one a fight. We changed to nicads and never had a problem, i know alot of people were saying that the quality had dropped in later years. The best thing about them though is the huge currents they deliver and fast charge times.
