With the body nearly complete the first mock-up with a wheel motor assembly and the sword propped up in position.

I did some sums, and Seraphim will be as fast as Saint across the arena and swing the sword a little faster than Saint, so it might even scratch some paint off your robot this time

how high is the body off the floor Craig?

    Craig,

I don't know exactly as the wheels are off at the moment so I can't measure the distance. But at least 120mm probably a lot more, the bottom is designed to be slanting upwards so the very front is about 200mm from the ground the distance between the wheels is about 560mm. the only time any of the body of the robot gets close to the ground is when it is flipping over to hit something (usually the floor!!) then the motor ends are about 20mm off the floor but only for a split second.
The whole design dose not need much armour as not much can reach that high so it will be a very open design. I don't know if it will work but it will be different.

    Hi Craig

I have just measured the height and with the body horizontal the gap is 140mm You can see the gap quite well when Tron is placed underneath the wheels for scale Tron has 75mm blue wheels fitted. When the sword drags along the ground the front lifts to give a maximum clearance of 240mm. the robot should climb over most other robots in the Featherweight circuit at the moment.
I hope soon we will see more adventurous designs from other roboteers on the future.

    Ok Craig

Lets see your designs for the Saint Catcher

Let€™s make some wacky designs for this weight class. How about some walkers or a hovercraft with an axe!!!

    Post all designs here

I could come up with some if you really would like to see ...

How wide is Seraphim? I'm sure Carcinus's claws could grab onto your wheels and make a saintly Seraphim catcher
Just need to actually make the claws strong enough to cope in the arena XD
