he gets paid 40k a year for being head of department
he only teaches 6 form so has 4 groups to teach 24 lessons a week out of 36 lessons a week
they also get about 14 weeks off a year and plenty of random days in the year - also weekends off
our essays are written to A grade so they are very good as well :P and not badly written and enjoy reading them
most of the my teachers also do cash in hand jobs in the summer holidays so there making even more money
as he doesnt teach the younger years who are trouble makers he has one of the easiest jobs in the school
my ICT teacher has the best job - made my school buy a £3 million extension and 10 ict classrooms with an average of 30 computers in each room which has made us in the top 5% in the country - he is also on the exam body and writes the coursework which we use in the school and must be on about 80k a year - my head teacher is on 120k a year! although she could be on double that if she was in a private sector business
saying all this you can get 30k a year on benefits in england
im also not happy about the government giving the majority of kids in post 16 education £30 a week to attend school because of their parents earning
I dont get £30 a week pocket money and my mates who get it arent even struggling for money but claim off my parents taxes
Were going to be starting a petition on the government website soon as its a joke
also a kid who left my school got kicked out of his house by his mom and now he is living in a flat in the middle of birmingham - all paid by the government and is also on £30 a week to go to school!
this is turning political but its a joke what kids are getting away with now and robbing my parents taxes
I dont agree with EMA john but i think you sound a bit spoilt mate!
I dont get £30 a week pocket money
No but you do get a nice house with all your food paid for, you got a well good hobby that doesnt cost you anything. Dont know aout now but thought you used to get paid £100/goal at football!
And tere is atleast one comment by you a week telling us about the new Xbox game you have or some new chair with speakers in it and your massive TV. LOL

lol the thing is
the people who i know who get ema dont need it
they all have a nice house 42 tvs they just dont have to spend anywhere near as much as my dad has to on the mortgage
ye we decide to live in a nice house but thats because we pay to and i wouldnt be getting £30 a week pocket money even if i my dad wanted to give me it
everyones spoilt in todays world
the chair was with my winnings but my dad got me a TV with the money - my tv is only 19 as well :P iv moved up to my room
xbox games are a different matter what i cant discuss on a public forum lol
im not blaming my friends for claiming ema because anyone who doesnt and can get it should be but its not fair how my mom and dad are paying there booze money every week
iv also never been paid to score a goal lol apart from when i was little and got like £3 a goal
ema people also got a £100 bonus at christmas!
Im sure I could write an A grade essay on the people that get EMA. It sickens me. What a farce.
Add my name to the petition.![]()
Always makes me laugh when people complain about how much people get paid.
OK Im not on £120k a year, but I do have a good job in engineering, went to uni part time (Because when I was younger there wasnt such a thing as EMA and I couldnt afford to go) and got a 1st (try that with a full time job too!!). I get told by a lot of my collegues that Im lucky to be in my position at such a young age.
It always makes me think about a quote I heard (cant remember who its by) which was its funny, but the harder I work the luckier I get.
When you look at a head of school getting paid £120k, think about the pupils as employees.
Where else does someone run a company with 40 senior executives (teachers) and 1200 employees (students) have total responsibility for a £3,000,000 budget (£2500/pupil I think it is) and get paid a miserly £120k a year.
I certainly wouldnt stick it for that money.
I would however agree that the figure of £30 for EMA seems very high (I dont even allow myself that to pee up against a wall each week).
I also know a few people who as company directors decide not to pay themselves anything in one year or go from a partnership to a ltd company and then clain all sorts of benefits because they take all their money as repayment of investments. The system is wide open to abuse so that someone who is worth millions can easily get their kids on EMA.
I would also agree that a lot of people are very spoilt in todays world. We regularly get people in our office with a years experience, holding themselves up as intermediate engineers and wanting in excess of £30k.
The worrying thing is they quite often get it from someone else!!!

(Now going to the pub to spend £10 of the £25 a week i allow myself on personal expenditure![]()
im not complaining how much my head teacher earns - as i know shes helping the school and could earn much more then shes getting - and would get this in a the private sector doing a similar job - and knowing what she has to do in her spare time for the school all the students respect her
and about people paying themselves less - this is what is happening in my school - the whole ema thing is abused by parents getting free money for there kids who dont need it - ye theres people who are getting it and need it but thats the minority out of all the people i know claiming
but my business teacher is on alot of money for a job which is alot easier then say the special needs department who are on half his money - but thats life
people just love having money off us - i have to pay £300 a year (to my council) to get a bus to school just because im over 16
i am happy with what i have got. and its not money.
