Welcome to Heat C of Robot Wars! So far, we have Typhoon II, the reigning champions, and newcomers Macduff the 4th in the Grand Final. Who will join them, though?

    BATTLE ONE

From Richmond upon Thames, in London, Crooked Evo!

A box wedge with 25mph speeds and a powerful flipper. Its made from Hardox and Titanium, and powered by 2 24v Magmotors, but the Co2 supply is limited.

From Durham, in Durham, the number 4 seeds, Firestorm V!

Three times a grand finalist, knocked out in the semi final last time. The Co2 powered flipper can throw robots out of the arena, but with 2WD, its not the best pusher around.

    Roboteers, stand by!

    B1: Crooked Evo
    B2: Firestorm V
House Robots: Sir Killalot and Shunt

    3-2-1: Activate!

Firestorm V would be the crowd favourite here. They slide under the side of Crooked Evo but miss a chance there! Crooked Evo turns around but Firestorm V gets under again and FLIPS it over! Crooked Evo self-rights, but uses up one of its flips there. How many does it have? They pursue Firestorm V and now it gets under the back and flips! Firestorm V up but not over! A flipper frenzy out there in the arena! Firestorm V swings around, missing another flip by Crooked Evo and gets under the front this time, pushing towards the CPZ! Shunt is waiting and he brings the axe down onto the 8mm Hardox armour. Crooked Evo...OH, they flipped Shunt! Crooked Evo out of the way, but flipping Shunt over! Firestorm V finds its way under again! Flipping Crooked Evo over, but they self-right. Not too high a ground clearance on Crooked Evo, only 6mm at the back. Firestorm V can get under that easily though. Sliding under the side once again and pushing them into the side wall. Can they get Crooked Evo out!? Crooked Evo tries to flip itself free, but Firestorm V is relentless! It's on its side now, Crooked Evo, against the wall, but it self-rights from there. Firestorm V turns around and away, but Crooked Evo catches up and FLIPS them over now! Could the fight still be turned around? Firestorm V self-rights. Two evenly matched robots here. Firestorm V out of trouble now, heading towards the pit release button! Down goes the pit. In comes Crooked Evo to try and flip again, but Firestorm V gets there first and pushes them into Sir Killalot's CPZ! Crooked Evo can't flip him over! Sir Killalot's claws grab hold of the side of Crooked Evo, and crumples the titanium armour! Lifting it up. Firestorm V looks on. Killalot drops Crooked Evo back to earth. Firestorm V comes in but slides UP the front of Crooked Evo this time! Crooked Evo pushes across the arena, towards the wall and FLIPS! Firestorm V not out, but on its side! They self-right and turn to face Crooked Evo again. What a fantastic fight this is. Aggression by both robots. Firestorm V does slip under the side of Crooked Evo this time and flips it over again. It self-rights, and the flipper still works. The last ten seconds count down. Firestorm V chases by Crooked Evo. Firestorm V swings around but almost flipped there by Crooked Evo. Now THEY get underneath and towards the wall!

    Cease!

Shunt flipped over! The house robots won't be happy! Both robots still mobile so the judge's will make their decision on who goes through.

    Crooked Evo: S: 2 C: 2 D: 1 A: 3 Total: 8

    Firestorm V: S: 3 C: 2 D: 1 A: 3 Total: 9

The judges have made their decision!
Firestorm V goes through to the heat final!

Hope you liked that fight. If you didn't like it, please say

    Welcome back.

    BATTLE TWO

From Richmond upon Thames, in London, Pickaxe of Doom!

A box wedge made from Polycarbonate and Titanium. Its main feature is a Co2 powered axe that can cause some serious damage. It is the slowest in the heat, though, at 5mph.

From Glasgow, in Scotland, Traffic Warden!

An oddly shaped robot with two horizontal crushers that come together when the opponent is in its grasp. Invertible, the fastest in this fight at 15mph, but a 10mm ground clearance could leave it open to attack from flippers.

    Roboteers, stand by!

    B1: Pickaxe of Doom
    B2: Traffic Warden
House Robots: Sgt Bash and Dead Metal

    3-2-1: Activate!

Traffic Warden is a unique looking robot. It heads straight for Pickaxe of Doom and rams into the side of it! Pickaxe of Doom, slow, but down comes the axe onto the top of Traffic Warden! That doesn't stop Traffic Warden, with Steven McGregor at the controls. It pushes Pickaxe of Doom against the wall and starts to crush it! This is a weapon like none other I've ever seen. Pickaxe of Doom hits it again, but Traffic Warden isn't releasing its grip! Now it does, and Pickaxe of Doom is away, but Traffic Warden is right behind. They turn around, and Traffic Warden pushes them towards the pit release button. Pickaxe of Doom escapes again. Traffic Warden gives chase and shoves it into Sgt Bash's CPZ! Sgt Bash is waiting and he grabs hold of the front of Pickaxe of Doom with his claws and makes a horrible gash in the wedge! Pickaxe of Doom uses its axe to try and free itself, but Sgt Bash lets it go anyway. Traffic Warden is on top here. Pickaxe of Doom turns around and hits it again. If they can penetrate the 4mm Titanium armour on Traffic Warden, they could immobolise it. Traffic Warden isn't deterred and once again shoves Pickaxe of Doom against the wall. The crushing arms hold it in place, there is no escape, I'm afraid! Pulling it away, Traffic Warden, and turning towards the pit! Pickaxe of Doom hacks away at the top of Traffic Warden, but its not letting go. DOWN goes Pickaxe of Doom! Traffic Warden through to the heat final!

    Cease!

Pickaxe of Doom gets stabbed in the back!
Traffic Warden goes through to the heat final!

So, this is the heat final lineup:

    Firestorm V VS Traffic Warden

But before that, the second of our featherweight melees

    Skink VS Flow VS Starfighter

    See you then

Two problems wrong with that tactic:

    1. Your wheels will most likely leave the ground when you get wedged onto the flipper.

    2. The opponent will be driving forward even if you are able to escape the wedge.

    :P

And I'm stating that it won't work because of aforementioned reasons. Not opinion, mind you, but fact. The only one who'll find himself inverted is you.

A greater ground clearance would remedy that. Too late to change stats now, though. :P

Meh, Elliot may write short fights, but he's not stupid by any accounts. I'm sure he'd notice, without my help. :P
