Thread: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary

  1. #131
Welcome back to Robot Wars! This is the fourth and final heat before the Grand Final. Let's start with Round One!

    BATTLE ONE

From South Kestevan, in Lincolnshire, Ge5orce!

A wedge shaped robot made from Hardox. Its weapon is a Co2 powered flipper that can hoist 1600kg. The wheels are protected by special pods, but they are still exposed from the top.

From Miami, in the USA, Surgeon General!

An invertible 2WD box with a spinning disc on the front that can cause major damage. The wheels are exposed, though and it is unreliable.

    Roboteers, stand by!

    B1: Ge5orce
    B2: Surgeon General
House Robots: Mr Psycho and Sgt Bash

    3-2-1: Activate!

I like the look of Ge5orce, but the spinning disc on Surgeon General looks very destructive. Ge5force sneaks around the side, but Surgeon General looks to counter this. OH! Ge5orce FLIPPED them...3ft into the air! Surgeon General comes crashing down! They turn and clip Ge5orce's wheel guard. Ge5orce away, but Surgeon General gives chase. Ge5orce could be the most powerful flipper we've seen in Robot Wars. It turns around to face the disc, but I think the front is too low for the disc to hit it. Ge5orce comes in again and FLIPS! Surgeon General thrown again and coming back down to earth. That one must have been at least 5ft! Ge5orce prepares for another flip, but Surgeon General hits them with the disc! Ge5orce tries to flip it away, but Surgeon General wants to avoid that type of attack! Part of the flipper on Ge5orce appears to be torn! It doesn't look like its closing properly. Surgeon General comes in again to try and take the wheel guard off! That way, Ge5orce might be immobolised. Ge5orce tries to flip again, but the flipper is clipped by the disc. On top at the beginning, Ge5orce, but behind now. Backing into the side of Surgeon General and trying to push them towards the flame pit! Surgeon General turns and something goes FLYING! Was it part of the wheel guard of Ge5orce? Maybe. Ge5orce escapes across the arena, into the pit release button! Can they push Surgeon General in? They swerve to avoid another assault by them. Surgeon General goes for another attack, but Ge5orce comes in from the side and tries to flip! The flipper is too damaged, though. It won't close because of the tear Surgeon General put in it! Surgeon General turns away, into Mr Psycho's CPZ! Down comes the hammer...onto the top of Surgeon General! That must hurt! Surgeon General tries to get away, but Ge5orce still has the energy to push them back into the CPZ! The hammer comes down again! The top of Surgeon General has some dents in it. They escape and turn to use the disc again. Ge5orce manourves around the side and despite the damage, still tries to flip it! Surgeon General turns and RIPS into the other wheel guard! Taking it clean off! That leaves Ge5orce exposed. The last ten seconds count down. Ge5orce turns to try and get around the back, but Surgeon General counters and makes another dent in the flipper! Ge5orce turns away towards the centre of the arena. It'll go to the judges.

    Cease!

What a fight! Both robots still mobile, so the judges will make their decision based on style, control, damage and aggression.

    Ge5orce: S: 2 C: 2 D: 1 A: 3 Total: 8

    Surgeon General: S: 2 C: 2 D: 3 A: 3 Total: 10

The judges have made their decision!
Surgeon General goes through to the heat final!

    Next time:

    OID VS Tornado

    And the featherweight final!

If anyone doubts the power of Ge5orce, read its stats on ZED. This really was hard for me to write

O.I.D: well, hes a rambot, nice and simple flat sides should be easy for me to rip into...hmmmmmm and i smell polycarbonate which should be like a hot knife through butter so basically spin up, get him from the side and pwn...sorry K.O him

however he has experience......meh, lets take him to the old folks home :P

Flow: do what i do best, OOTA!

Welcome back, but you're probably sick of hearing me say that all the time

    BATTLE TWO

From Richmond upon Thames, in London, OID!

The name stands for 'Oh I'm Dizzy'. Will it make the other robots dizzy with its 2000mph spinning disc. Its invertible, and made from Hardox, but the wheels are exposed.

From Huntingdon, in Cambridgeshire, the number 2 seeds, Tornado!

They came third in the last series. A box on wheels with interchangable weapons including a scoop, a lifter and a spinning disc. They have plenty of experience, but the drive train is unreliable.

    Roboteers, stand by!

    B1: OID
    B2: Tornado
House Robots: Shunt and Dead Metal

    3-2-1: Activate!

Tornado has the scoop for this fight, so it'll try and get under OID and push it around the arena. OID approaches, but Tornado charges straight in first and pushes them into the wall! OID gets away and turns to use its disc, and makes contact with the scoop of Tornado. Sparks fly! It doesn't stop Tornado, who once again gets the scoop under and pushes OID into the CPZ, where Shunt waits! He brings his axe down onto the Hardox armour of OID, but doesn't make much damage. OID away, and greeted by Tornado, who rams into them once more, pushing them against the far end wall of the arena! OID turns around to use its rear wedge, and now it slides under the side of Tornado and pushes him aside. I don't think that will faze Tornado, though. They slip away and get around the side of OID again, pushing them towards another CPZ! It's empty, but OID needs to get out of there quickly. They do, as Dead Metal appears on the scene. But Tornado, with 4WD, is much stronger than OID and shoves them into the grasp of Dead Metal. Sparks fly as the saw cuts into the Hardox armour! OID tries to get away, but Shunt comes in now! Tornado presses the pit release button! OID is away, but how much damage has it taken? Tornado manourves itself under OID again and pushes them towards the pit! OID JUST avoids it! Tornado almost went in itself then! OID swings around and hits Tornado with the disc! Tornado backs away and comes in again! OOH! Too close to the edge, there! They pushed OID away, but come back in for more! Turning into the side and pushing them down! OH! Tornado follows! Both of them are in the pit, but its obvious who went in first!

    Cease!

Both robots are in the pit, but OID went in first.
Tornado goes through to the heat final!

Next, we have the featherweight final.

    Overdrive VS Flow

Once again, please do not say I am biased in favour of the seeds. That is not the case. Please read and review

    Quite nice, Elliot

    Surgeon General vs. Tornado

Not an ideal match-up, but let's have a go. Tornado's obviously a rambot so it'll try to stop the disc. What I'm going to do is try and smack the edges of the front and spin Tornado away, so I can spin up repeatedly. Enough hits should take the wedge off and leave the front open for business, and then I can really tear into him. If an opportunity to attack the sides and rear becomes available, go for it. And if he's able to push me, reverse and spin; Surgeon General is quite good at turning, as shown in his fight with Killerhurtz.

    Good luck Mark.

It's been a while, and I apologize, but tactics time is over

    FEATHERWEIGHT FINAL

    From Portsmouth, in Hampshire, Flow!

Armed with a powerful Co2 powered flipper and showed no mercy in its first battle. Its 2WD, but the Co2 supply is limited.

From South Kestevan, in Lincolnshire, Overdrive!

A box on wheels with a front wedge and fast speeds of 15mph. Its made from Aluminium, so its strong, but the wheels are exposed.

    Roboteers, stand by!

    B1: Flow
    B2: Overdrive
House Robots: Dead Metal and Shunt

    3-2-1: Activate!

A new featherweight champion will be crowned after this. Overdrive straight out and sliding under Flow! Ramming them into the arena wall! Flow away and turns to get under, but flips itself over! Overdrive pushes it into a CPZ, where Shunt awaits. Flow self-rights and avoids a mighty axe blow! It escapes the CPZ and gets under Overdrive, FLIPPING them into the air! Overdrive crashes back down, but I don't think that has hurt them. They swing around to get at the back of Flow, perhaps to push them towards the flame pit or the angle grinder or a CPZ again? They do so, but Flow counters and tries to get under again, but misses! That's a waste of Co2. How much do they have left? Overdrive barges into them again and pushes them towards the wall. Flow against the angle grinder, but away. Doing well to stay in this, I think. Overdrive presses the pit release button. Down goes the pit. They'll need to avoid that as Flow once again flips Overdrive! That is a powerful flipper Flow has! Overdrive OK, and they swing around to get under Flow again. Flow backs off the wedge and gets under the side of Overdrive. FLIPPING it over! Overdrive, can avoid another flip? Yes, they're off and away towards the flame pit. Flow follows. They've both got good armour, so the flames won't do any damage. Overdrive spins around to face Flow and slides under again, pushing them back into Shunt! Flow...ha ha! They try to flip Shunt! Overdrive comes in again, just as Shunt brings his axe down and hits them instead of Flow! Flow escapes, but Shunt pushes Overdrive against the wall. They're in trouble here. Dead Metal approaches, but Overdrive escapes and is out of danger now. Flow crashes into them and FLIPS! OH! They've flipped themselves over again! That's how powerful their flipper is! Overdrive pushes them towards the wall, but Flow self-rights as they are shoved into an angle grinder. Its off again and tries to get under Overdrive once more. Overdrive is upside down from the earlier flip, and thus cannot push properly now as Flow slides under the wedge and THROWS them towards the bottom of the arena! Overdrive backs away, ALMOST into the pit! They had a lucky escape there, but Flow comes in again. Overdrive gets under and tries to turn them towards the pit, but Flow swerves! OH! Overdrive is on the edge and DOWN they go! They tried to push Flow in, but went down themselves! What bad driving! Flow is the winner!

    Cease!

    Overdrive goes into just that!
    Flow is the Featherweight Champion!

    Well done to Flow.

    Next time:

    Tornado VS Surgeon General

Another note, this time about the fight. I did not let Flow win simply because AJ did not post his tactics. You're probably tired of me going on about this, but to avoid future conflicts, I feel I must tell you. Read and review at your own leisure

    Welcome back!

    HEAT FINAL

From Miami, in the USA, Surgeon General!

From Huntingdon, in Cambridgeshire, the number 2 seed, Tornado!

    Roboteers, stand by!

    B1: Surgeon General
    B2: Tornado
House Robots: Mr Psycho and Matilda

    3-2-1: Activate!

The last place in the grand final up for grabs. Tornado has the wedge and SLAMS into Surgeon General straight away! Sparks fly from the disc, but Tornado isn't fazed and pushes Surgeon General towards the CPZ! Surgeon General however, counters this and swerves out of the way before they get there, so Tornado turns and goes on the attack again. Pushing from the side this time, but Surgeon General once again swings out of harms way. Good tactics from both sides! Tornado needs to keep Surgeon General from escaping if they are to win. They push into the side again and take Surgeon General into the pit release button! Down goes the pit. Surgeon General escapes, JUST avoiding going down! Tornado follows, but Surgeon General spins around and HITS them with the disc! Tornado is very strong, though and pushes Surgeon General once more towards the CPZ! Surgeon General tries to get away, but Mr Psycho is waiting and down comes the hammer...ONTO the top of Surgeon General! Tornado pushes them into Mr Psycho again, but Surgeon General escapes and the hammer falls again onto the arena floor! Tornado off and away, to push Surgeon General towards the flame pit. Surgeon General frees itself again and now Tornado goes for the sides. Pushing Surgeon General across the arena again and into the angle grinder! Surgeon General tries to escape, but Tornado rams them again! Is Surgeon General stuck against the wall? No, they get away, but Tornado is dogged in its pursuit here! Pushing Surgeon General again, this time into Matilda! OH! She hits Surgeon General with her flywheel and something came flying off! Was it one of the wheel guards? I think so! That leaves one of their wheels exposed! Tornado tries to push them again but ends up FLYING from Matilda's flywheel and ALMOST into the pit! Matilda showing no mercy in this battle! Tornado is still mobile, and pushes Surgeon General once more. Surgeon General swings round again and escapes, but Tornado is still in pursuit. This is a fantastic fight! Tornado barges into the side of Surgeon General and pushes them towards the pit! Surgeon General is able to free itself and hits Tornado once more with the disc. That doesn't stop the second seeds, though! The last ten seconds count down. Tornado pushes Surgeon General onto the flame pit. That won't harm them though. Its got good armour, Surgeon General. They shove free of Tornado, who turns to give chase.

    Cease!

An amazing fight. Both robots are still mobile, so it will go to the judges. You know the critera, style, control, damage and aggression.

    Surgeon General: S: 2 C: 2 D: 1 A: 3 Total: 8

    Tornado: S: 2 C: 3 D: 2 A: 3 Total: 10

The judges have made their decision!
Tornado goes through to the grand final!

Well done to Tornado. They take the last place in the grand final.

    So this is the lineup:

    Typhoon (Jack O)
    Macduff the 4th (Kody K)
    Firestorm (Andrew J)
    Tornado (Mark E)

The lineup will be later. Please read and review
