Thread: 360 - mini hypnodisc

When repairing a gear many years ago. I found making a tooth profile gauge very helpful. To do this I used some undamaged section of the original gear and pressed hard into the gear teeth some P38 car body filler, let it go hard, and cut off the excess on the sides and then slide off the the remainder, this gave me a guide of the profile for the repair.
    Hope this helps.

    Very good Dave.

    Dave,

Credit where credit is due, I've done exactly the same thing before, total piss take of my time but worth it, mine weren't as good as that though !!

Thanks guys, hopefully it'll be worth it

Just need to make a new link and fit a new esc and 360s back in action (anyone want to sponsor me a brushless esc lol? )

Probably a stupid question but how were you using a Castle Creations ESC, 160HV I think, with a brushless motor. The ESC only has 2 outputs and the brushless motor has 3 cables.
Can you use a Phoenix ICE 2 160HV with a Scorpion HK -4035?

    It has three outputs:

Although in some of the studio pictures, the white cable blends in with the white background and is difficult to see.

The cable is white! No wonder I can't see it! It also doesn't help that it doesn't seem to be on the PDF... Ok, panic over :-)

    LOL fail.

you can use pretty much any non sensored esc with any non sensored brushless motor, brands dont really matter.

I use the ICE 200A in 540 as im only running 6s, will probably be the same for 360,

The data logging capabilities are very useful if your looking into brushless esc's, my top tips would be getting the best branded, highest rated one you can afford, then keep your wires short, put on an aditional capacitor and make sure you take the brake function off, and current limiting on, and with scorpion motors put the timing mode as high.

    Any quetions let me know.

We have gone with a 160HV as we are running 10S, and as you know more volts = less amps.
We have plans to fit 2 40mm^2 fans next to it to give it some decent cooling.
We will definitely need some advice come our first spin up and on how to make best use of the data logging, and how to add an extra capacitor, and how to set the brake off etc...

Although it's true that Power = Volts x Current remember that increasing the Voltage will increase the power of the motor (In DC motors Power is quadrupled (as is heat) if you double the Voltage) so Current is also doubled.
With Brushless motors each increase in Voltage increases the motors RPM (The Kv rating) and so does it's power (Power is a indicator of both torque and RPM).
