That comment was tongue in cheek mate but you are absolutely right in what you say about it. It was only Clive being Faceacious that bought me into this thread

As I've not even looked inside a spinner (except to remove SMIDSY's disc) I might just consider it a bit lethal for what we would want anyway.

Pneumatics and electronics are not an issue because we have the skills for that in the team. For spinners we would need to learn about it before even considering something like that, which as you say means building it. Plus..................big old li-po's, it's ok blowing a 100mAh lipo up on the kitchen table because it has no significant fire load, just causes a bad case of brown underpants and leaves a scorch mark but we don't and wont be running the big uns cos there's kids in our team and people who like 'to be helpful'

nothing done on robots recently, beetle or fw...

But me and ed have decided to enter the power tool drag racing ride on competition, so ive bought this as a frame

Thinking about powering it by 4 chainsaws or cut off saws whatever i see on ebay next and buy on a whim lol, dont want to spend to much this year, just want to make one to ride about on...if the kid in the picture comes with the bike then i think ill get him to ride it in the competition..think im abit to gravitationaly challenged to do any good

got abit of space cleared out in Eds garage to work on it and im currently in talks with someone who might be doing me a good deal on 6off 58cc chainsaws

as soon as the engines arrive ill get the sprag clutch starter ive designed made up through work and finnish designs on my super race KE clutch idea so ed can get on with it at work

Also got given a mini moto petrol tank, fuel filter and top fairing today to use.

The starter motor (black and decker lawn mower motor) can be seen under the seat- its the round thing..to give an idea of scale its about the size of a bosch 750

mounted tank, got engines today ran them in and striped them down. think ed's going to get on with the engine mounts now but heres a few pics of them all in place..





(yes ones missing.. didn't strip it down yet because we want to measure the tick over and top speed of the engines before we strip it so we can work out gear ratios etc)

are they easy to start? I remember last event of this the one grant had took a while to get all the engines going

was going through my spare parts and old bits id forgotten about.. turns out i have enough spare parts to totally build my own drum roll style robot lol

Found a piece of titanium that fits perfect for the lid as well disc motor, speedo and gearbox are 360's old bits.. armour is 360s anti spinner armor i carnt use anymore because it weighs too much.. drum is something i made at college years ago when i was bored...

Wont bother building it but liying it all down was kinda funny...
