went into our local new b&q which is a superstore, they must have had about 30 of these. i got some strange looks when i brought 10

I got asked at the checkout if I had enough drills (I had four)
I said yes but what I neglected to mention was the fact that I'd have at least another four if not more (and a belt sander) if I had enough spare cash
But it was enough to generate some conversation with the rather nice looking checkout girl

jamie, if you havent removed motors already check the screw that holds chuck bit on (the left hand thread one) i had one drill where that screw was dud, it was flat and had no phillips head on it, no idea how they tightened it lol.

out of 14 drills only had that one and i managed to remove it ok, got spare screws so didnt need to take it back.

All mine were fine, I was actually quite surprised at the ease with which both the reverse-threaded screw and chuck came off
Although I guess since they haven't been used they've not had a chance to tighten up against each other - shame the same can't be said of the five old hammer drills I've got sitting here with seriously jammed reverse-threaded screws waiting to be made robot-friendly. No worries though, they'll be getting the angle grinder treatment tomorrow

And I think B&Q should issue a disclaimer saying that customers who share a town with a roboteer/roboteers may not be able to purchase aforementioned cheap drills due to their stocks being eradicated by us lot

i also found the screws seriously easy to undo with no force at all. did even have to put it in a vice, and the chuck just unscrewed with ease.
the last lot i brought were a right pain, my local b&q have still got about 30 left, but i think i have enough now
