Finally, we see the end of Round 1! Let's get it over with!

    Eliminator 8
Minesweeper 1.1 vs. Next Stop, Jupiter

Minesweeper 1.1 is a vapourbot by Mark Elam...question is, will it sweep away the competition, or itself be swept away? Box shaped, invertible, 4WD, and bare bones tough. Quad S28-400 MagMotors power it, and it's armoured in a 5.5mm Hardox monocoque. The main weapons are the front and rear scoops, freely hinged and can work invertibly. However, they don't really do any physical damage, and invertible scoops aren't exactly the most leveraging of weapons...

Next Stop, Jupiter is the bassa' child of Phrizbee and Hexadecimator, and actual son of retired bot Thanatos. Basically a Warrior SKF clone with Hardox and Ti/V armour and Bosch motors powering an invertible 4WD. The trademark rim-powering-flipper set-up is there too, on par with the actual Warrior SKF's power levels. However, being a clone, it shares Warrior's weaknesses: the flipper can't work if the rim won't work, and it's relatively unstable.

    Roboteers, stand by...

    House robots: King Leer, Hexadecimal

    ACTIVATE!

Here goes nothing, eh? The last two are willing to give it all, and right off Minesweeper is across the arena, bashing into the incoming NSJ, but unfortunately for Mark NSJ's own momentum and great leverage advantage has its flipper easily defeat the invertible scoop of Minesweeper, and Samuel wastes no time in tossing Mark's bot onto its head...in a 540! Even less fortunately for Mark he lands side-on to NSJ, who proceeds to get under Minesweeper again and launches it across the arena! Being invertible, Minesweeper will always land on its wheels, and proves so by spinning about, but Samuel has scored quite a few points early on and Mark has to catch up quickly, should it go to a judges decision! Minesweeper hurriedly moves back in, and deftly swerves around another charge from NSJ, so getting to the sides of it, but in doing so is greeted by the spinning rim, which cuts into the scoop!

    CRASH!!!

And Minesweeper is sent spinning away, straight over the saws which pop up and - BZZT! - cut into the underbelly! Doesn't seem to have done much damage, however, and Minesweeper moves in again. This time, NSJ can't get enough speed to power under Minesweeper and the scoop bashes into the flipper; neither can get under, but Minesweeper's power advantage comes into play alarmingly fast, pushing Samuel's machine back, and into King Leer's CPZ! The powerful house robot pushes back, catches the rim with its wedge and deflects NSJ onto said wedge, pushing it back into Minesweeper. Minesweeper is forced back by Leer's immense drivetrain prowess, but keeps pushing itself against NSJ, unwilling to leave it alone should NSJ escape the king of the DarkZlayerz. Hexadecimal watches greedily from her CPZ as King Leer pushes both robots all the way across the arena towards her CPZ, and Mark realizes what's going to happen, before it does! ...or does it? No! To Mark's intense relief, he is able, just barely able, to extract Minesweeper's scoop from against NSJ's side and scoot his robot away, as King Leer reaches the CPZ of the chaotic queen! Samuel watches on in horror...oh this can't be good!

    CRASH!!!

A monumental CRASH later and NSJ is blasted onto King Leer's front by Hex's deadly blades, landing directly on top of the wedge of Leer, in a shower of sparks; Minesweeper waits eagerly nearby, but apparently no damage has been done to NSJ, either...however that doesn't help its situation right now! King Leer's blades can't reach right in front of him, but NSJ is pegged in there and he's helpless! Possibly assured by Samuel's frightful position, Mark goes after the pit release and hits it, lowering the pit, then comes back. But during this Leer has slammed NSJ further into Hexadecimal's CPZ, and Hex is lifting NSJ off the wedge...and he's away! Minesweeper is thus met with a colossal ram to the scoop; such momentum is carried by Samuel's robot and it easily gets under Minesweeper...and he flips Minesweeper, though not as high as Samuel hoped due to NSJ's rim not fully spun up. And this works in Mark's favour as Minesweeper recovers quickly and rams into NSJ before the latter can lower its flipper...and now the pit is in line! A determined gleam in Mark's eyes, he guns Minesweeper's motors to their highest output and pushes NSJ back! NSJ tries to turn backwards but it's too late and NSJ goes over the side edge of the pit, just enough so that it falls in moments later! Perhaps it's the shock of actually winning its match, but Minesweeper drives in moments later!

    CEASE!

Next Stop...well actually, there ain't no more stops for you besides the pit, Samuel.
Minesweeper 1.1 advances to Round 2!

Well well well, we have 8 competitors, and 4 spots left into the semi-finals. Let's see who'll fight for those 4 spots, shall we?

    Round 2
    Gabriel V vs. Qwertyuiop
    Minesweeper 1.1 vs. Envy
    Mornington Crescent vs. Monsoon Season
    Apocalypse II vs. Under Pressure

    Tactics, predictions, the usual.

To get to the rear of envy is difficult in itself as envy has a very good powerful drive and will always face its opponent... to get under the front of envy is also difficult too as 80% of envys weight is in front of the wheels. your invertable wedges will only hug the floor under their own weight so envy will win the war of getting under the robot... You will be flipped to the edge and oota. If by some miracle you do get under the front of Envy you will have to lift it quite high to lift its wheels off the ground....envy will simply reverse off. I predict an Easy win for Envy Mr Elam.

    Oh and good luck

With all due respect (or lack thereof), Mark, you may not realize this but your above post was extremely arrogant and ignorant.

Ahhhhhhhh Mr Elam you seem to think i know nothing of vapourbots. you dream on about your s28 mags....they are simply not made for heavyweight robots.....in the real world c40 300 are better than the s28. Equate that to the world of vapour then surly the c40 would be the better more powerful drive....add everything else i have said and your on a looser on every count.

    good luck Mr Elam

Its hard to explain but your super doooooper18hp drive is next to useless.......remember you only have 100kg of weight. 18hp will simply wheelspin. there is not enough weight to get the power to the floor. the c40 geared like i have will have all the low end torque to out push your wheelspinning robot all day. Thats if your s28 dont overheat and burn out. and thats if my front end doesnt get onder your light weight thingies you have which it will. how can you out push envy if you are riding up my scoop. Flip.....bye bye Mr Elam.
