ed gave me db5's old disc.. (the same as you use in hornet).. the other day.. turns out when 360 hit it the 12mm hardox disc got bent by 20mm..i had a little nick out of mine so im not to worried lol gotta order 360s new speedos and maybe a bigger battery.. If i get a 6c pack ill be running 200% more power :twisted:
Don't need much convincing personally to go A123 - its more a case of convincing my bank balance, which will be being raped by petrol money for this event
Drumroll will be running a brushless weapon setup but I'll have the trusty Speed 900s on hand as back-up incase there's too much stress on the motor or the speedo burns out or whatever.
Last time Hornet did all the work while Drumroll failed in epic proportions but I'm gonna have it pulling its weight this time with a new chassis, invertibility, better manoeuvreability and speed and sexy gyroscopic dancing
which esc you using with that motor jamie? doubt that one you lent me is going to cut it for very long tbh. A123's suck the future is lipo.
Yeah its the one I lent you Dave - the only reason I'm running it is, frankly, because it was free (thanks to Kenny). If I didn't have either the motor or speedo I'd still be on the 900s because I can't afford top-of-the-range brushless bits at the mo.
I'll give it a run out in testing and battles and if it fails I'll just throw the Speed 900/Victor 885 combo in there to replace it. That, coupled with the Nimhs, does enough to be competitive, even though there's plenty more potential to come from it. If I'm running A123s by then, it'll be a bonus for the Speed 900 setup. Lipos hurt the wallet more
yeah true, have you done any spin up tests yet of that motor? be interesting to see how fast it spins up.
Very unsafe spin-up tests, that involved me holding the motor in my hand with a belt running to the drum. Because of that I didn't crank it up to full pelt straight away, I just let it build gradually - got to half throttle and started to get a bit worried about losing fingers so left it at that
Gonna wait till I've got it properly mounted before running full tests, but I don't see it being as quick as the Speed 900s, so I might need to get Hornet to lead the line while the drum builds speed
Well i hope we draw beauty first, didnt get to fight it at uk champs and i was looking forward to fighting it. Then we can take out those scottish lads with there lil vert spinners
With exception of dear Savage Evo, my record against horizontals is pretty good so I fancy my chances

As much as Savage Evo/360 vs Hornet 2/Drumroll in a tag match would make for one hell of a viewing experience, shouldn't we all be ganging up on those damn flippers! Can't let them win this time
Well yea. Kill the flippers first. Can we at least try to cut through a CO2 bottle this time? That would look awsome.
But when it comes down to Drumroll and Hornet 2 Vs Savage and 360 in the final (yeah thats right 4 spinners in the final, whos gunna stop us? A flipper? I think not) its going to be Horizontal Spinners FTW!
I gotta admit ill be hiding behind 360 most of the time but thats not cos im scared... Honest(maybe just a lil scared)
