    It's a physical impossibility to make sure a robot with a zero ground clearance wedge will 'never ever' get underneath you, skirts and the like reduce the chance but there will always be times when it will get under you, depending on how they come at each other and the angles of things and etc.

    Just because you say something will happen doesn't make it so at all, look at Arsene Wenger :P

    Oh yes, of course we have house robots! What? Did you think we wouldn't and would rip off other house robots? Well think again. And these are the deadliest house robots ever made:

    Magnavox
    Weight: 500kg
    Shape: Killalot with a solid back, and skirts on his front, back, and sides.
    Colour: Gold
    Dimensions: 180cm x 110cm x 85cm
    Drive: 2 24v 6-S28-400 Magmotor Gearboxes powered by 30x A123 battlepacks.
    Locomotion: 2 180cm x 10cm x 5cm titanium tank tracks
    Armour: 10mm Hardox
    Speed: 17mph
    Ground Clearance: 0mm all around due to skirts, 5mm without skirts.
    Turning Circle: 0m
    Weapons: 2 arms, like Killalot. the right arm has a Mr. Psycho-esque claw on it, capable of crushing 6mm titanium at 6 tons of pressure. The left arm has a 30kg 50cm x 2cm x 50cm titanium flywheel with 4 hardox teeth. It can tear up 7mm titanium with no problem.

    Panzer

    Shape: A Panzer Tank with a bulldozer scoop at the front.

    Locomotion: 2 135cm x 10cm x 20cm Hardox tank tracks

    Ground Clearance: 0mm at front due to scoop, 5mm at sides, and 1 cm at back
    Turning Circle: 0m
    Weapons: This is a bit weird, and may p*ss some of you off, but 1 remotely controlled Vickers Mk. 1 .303 cal. Machine gun with 100 rounds, capable of causing significant damage to 5mm hardox and 7mm titanium.
    Srimech: None.
    Strengths: A very dangerous weapon.
    Weaknesses: Slow.

    Wraith
    Weight: 200kg
    Shape: An 8-sided pyramid.
    Colour: Black
    Dimensions: 100cm x 80cm x 30cm
    Drive: A contra-rotating fan blade, allowing Wraith to hover 2m above the arena floor. The blade is connected to a 24v 6-S28-400 Magmotor Gearbox, powered by 15x A123 battlepacks.
    Locomotion: the robot shifts a 10kg ballast block back, forth, left, and right to tilt the robot, and make it go back, forth, left, and right. The idea is taken from

    Armour: since it flies, and nobody can get it (hopefully), The armor is 4mm magnesium alloy.
    Speed: 20mph
    Ground Clearance: too big to tell.
    Turning Circle: 0m
    Weapons: Wraith uses a flamethrower, powered by a 5kg Napalm tank, to burn enemies that get underneath it.
    Srimech: None
    Strengths: It flies!
    Weaknesses: Hard to control.

    ...it might say something about these house robots that Magnavox is the one I have the LEAST problems with...

    First up, the Magmotors used for drive. Although you are running six of them through a custom gearbox I still think they'll struggle to move your things, especially with tracks that will take more power to turn. I would suggest going for Eteks or other similar huge PMDC motors and using just one of them per track...however, such would be the futility of attempts to make these designs halfway realistic that changing the motors would be not unlike attempting to make Chuck Norris look like a convincing woman by replacing his cowboy hat with a bonnet.

    Magnavox's weaponry is vaguely stated; what powers the flywheel? What powers the claw? What, in addition to those, powers the arms as they go up and down? How heavy is the flywheel? How is the rest of the arm protected, if at all, from the energy that the flywheel will store and release into the opponent and yourself? (Newton's third law) Does this 'tearing up 7mm titanium' take into account what the titanium is attached to? If it has no srimech how can it be invincible? If you said you weren't going to rip off other designs, then why is it basically Killalot only with more pure undiluted overkill? What are the weapons made of? Why am I asking these questions when you're not likely to answer them?

    Panzer's name puts me at mind of at least two other robots - one in series 3 that later competed as Panzer Wraith in Extreme, and one in America that competed in Robotica and then in the US Robot Wars in different incarnations (and also in Battlebots as Wrath) - so you could possibly have chosen a more original name. :P
    I haven't seen a Panzer tank and I could possibly use some description of one, beyond that which you have given. As for the machine gun...well...they are prohibited in virtually all the rules I can find that concern combat robots, both directly and under the headings of explosives, untethered projectiles, compressed gas limits, consumables, prohibited materials and the prohibition in the FRA's code of conduct against acting like an arse. They are not allowed and I will not be entering any tournament where there is a remote chance of them being used by any competitor or house robots.

    Wraith is again a name that has been used quite a bit, once in conjunction with 'Panzer' as well...yeah, originality would be nice. Contra-rotating generally describes the situation that arises when you have two things, spinning in a similar area but opposite directions, and if you have contra-rotating blades you won't be doing much flying.
    Mainly magnesium alloys are frowned upon by most event organisers that I know of due to their tendency of catching fire when subjected to high kinetic energy weapons, so you'd better not be planning on getting hit by anything.

    The napalm flamethrower is just beyond all belief. It killed hundreds of thousands of people in Vietnam and elsewhere when used by the US Army, largely civilians, and its use against populations of civilians was banned by the United Nations Convention On Certain Conventional Weapons in 1980. Using it in an enclosed arena would probably be a recipe for complete disaster as it would not only destroy plastic armour but the arena structure itself, it would get in to the metal shells of robots - if not melt the metal itself - and destroy them from within, burn up the floor in an instant and the flames and heat would probably cause the robot firing it to fail from such close range and fall into the hellhole it created. So as well as being morally questionable it is far too unfair a weapon to even consider using.
    If you are going to insist on doing something as stupid as propose the use of a napalm flamethrower in combat robotics, I am afraid I am going to insist that you get out of this forum.

    But if you insist, please, somebody, just get rid of Panzer(I have plans for Wraith), (because I can't do it due to editing time having been used up on that post).

    Drive: A contra-rotating fan blade, allowing Wraith to hover 2m above the arena floor. The blade is connected to a 24v 6-S28-400 Magmotor Gearbox, powered by 15x A123 battlepacks.
    Locomotion: the robot shifts a 10kg ballast block back, forth, left, and right to tilt the robot, and make it go back, forth, left, and right. The idea is taken from the Hiller Flying Platform.

    Well, since today's my birthday(Yay me!!!), I feel motivated to continue Storm II v Ramminator Evilution!

    (Continuing)

    Let's not forget the house robots for this battle are the mighty televised menace Magnavox, and the equally dangerous(but smaller) Shunt.

    And in comes Storm, ramming into RE, and shoving it into that CPZ. You go in there, and the house robots can tear you up. And in comes Shunt, getting under RE, firing the axe, and oh! In comes one of our 2 new house robots: Magnavox, coming forward. Shunt, get out of it. Get out of it; I want to see the new house robot. Magnavox lowers that arm with the deadly flywheel...

    BANG!!!

    There's a big dent on top of RE, and I think one of the skirts is bent, preventing it from moving! No. It's still moving alright, but the right skirt is bent quite a bit so it doesn't have 0mm ground clearance all around anymore! RE out of the CPZ, and Storm immediately gets underneath and rams RE into the arena wall. It doesn't look like its moving freely, or moving for that matter, RE. The Guardian, our new Refbot comes in to check on RE, and up in the control pod, Samuel Park looks on with dismay, as the Guardian begins his solemn count...

    1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8..9..10!!!

    Ramminator Evilution never really got going there, and there's a small wisp of smoke coming out of the top of RE. I think that Storm II's big push might've caused some of the shockproofing to start smoking. Anyways, Shunt comes in and pushes RE under the drop zone. And what are we dropping on the poor robot this time? We're dropping a disarmed 1,000lb bomb on them!!!

    10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1..DROP!!!

    And there's the bomb, crumpling down on RE. It didn't really do that much damage though...

    CEASE!!!

    Ramminator Evilution is evil and evolved no more...

    STORM II MOVE ON TO THE GRAND FINAL!!!
