havent worked with ali sheet before, what thickness base do you recommend for our 6wd fw with electric lifter. i was going to order the 6082 ali sheet from technobots, but unsure what thickness to use.
also is ali easy to cut/drill? or anything i need to be careful with when using it?

i would recommend 4mm, possibly 5mm. Very easy to drill. Can be cut with a hacksaw easily along with a jigsaw as long as you get a blade designed for aluminium. You don't need to take any special precautions bar usual metal working ones such as filing sharp edges etc.

don`t have too high speed when drilling, alu will melt and sticking to the drillbit, slow and hard is recomended, And use oil or some other colant if you can, alcohol is very good, the same that are used in cars to clean windshield.
Most importantly use a very sharp drill bit.
That is the most important !
