its the autodesk package with loads on it -inventor professional 2009 the lot - think you should only click what 1s u want when u install kenny cus my dad clicked them all and thats y it took so long! lol 4 dvds so its massive

question for the solidworks gurus.

im using 2005 version and modelled a few spinner disks im getting cut out, trying to compare the moment of inertia of them

in the mass properties section theres so many values for MOI (LXX LXY LYY LZY etc etc) i dont know which one to use to calculate energy with

ideas?

Unless you have a very unusual disk design it will be the biggest one. It will definately be either IXX, IYY or IZZ and definately not IXY, IXZ or IYZ. Which one it is depends on which orientation you modelled the disk.

cheers, one of them is pretty well symmetrical (2 tooth) but the other one an excedingly wierd shape in every direction because its 1. so i guess youd just have to take the average of the XX and YY and take it as a rough guess?
