Thread: Info on little blue speedos

    hi

    can anyone tell me if these controllers will work with a123 batteries?

    also anyone that has one to sell i may be interested in buying

    They will as A123s are just like a regular battery source but there are a few things you should be aware of,

    - 50A forward? Great! Nuts only 20A in reverse
    - It doesnt say but I believe that these speedos will only run off 12v which will probably restrict you to a 3 cell pack as a 4 cell pack will take you well above that.

    beauty2 uses them with drills @ 14.6v (17v 4 123s)

    We have run these speedos before in Whirlpool where they easily handled running 4 drills at 15.6v. The only time we damaged one was when a motor broke its mounting and shorted itself causing the reverse to stop working.

    It has been known to run these speedos on 14.4v. Just be careful though as it is really the amps which kill it.
