adrian if you dont want to take it apart urself and it is stiff to turn without being attached to the gearbox, then send it back.

Put it next to your ear and give it a shake... if it rattles.. its broke As kenny said it is more then likely your magnets have cracked. or the main shaft might of bent depending on your gearbox design.
