Hunters is rather stupid, its at the back, just a hold for access, no cover!
The link is put back a bit, so if anything should get in there, it wont be able to reach the link, or anything else for that matter.

It can still be reached by the human hand.
Otherwise it would be pointless putting a hole at the back for the link and you can even reach it.
