    The May Tracks Has You vs Wedga Triton vs Neo-Mecha vs Pure Evil: Back to Basics

    Representing Team Bored, The May Tracks Has You!
    This original Comengetorix-shaped robot has an effective weapon synergy that utilises upward facing spikes on the wedge that penetrate the opponent€™s tyres when the powerful flipper is activated, meaning the opponent€™s manoeuvrability could be in danger here. And once The May Tracks Has You, there really is no escape, however the tracks could be in danger from flipper/axe combinations.

    Representing Team ???, Wedga Triton!
    This is the latest robot in a long running line of flippers, and in power it doesn€™t disappoint with the ability to throw 1600kg around! The sleek Storm II shape will help it to get under other robots and the adequate magmotors give very good control, but the robot isn€™t an ideal shape for flipping

    Representing Team Fatal Robotics, Neo-Mecha!
    This Ankle-Biter shaped robot has a vertical spinning disc and rear wedge to push robots around the arena, plus the linear actuated srimech can un-turtle it less than a second. For this battle Samuel Park has teamed up with Wedga Triton, could it be a match made in heaven or will these two be a terrible twosome.

    Representing Team Britespark, Pure Evil: Back to Basics!
    Like what it says in the name, this simple wedge is pure evil. The powerful nitrogen flipper can toss robots out of the arena and the tracks provide superb traction as well as utilising the 10kg weight bonus unlike The May Tracks Has You. However is it too simple to compete with modern day designs?

    The three flippers and a spinning disc that are competing in this battle all get off the mark quickly, but immediately two separate battles are being fought as Wedga Triton makes a beeline for Pure Evil while The May Tracks Has You launches an assault at Neo-Mecha.

    Wedga gets in the first attack of the match, attacking the corner of Pure Evil€™s front wedge and managing to breach it this time, forcing Daniel Stickler€™s second entry back across the arena and flipping it over with so much force the wedge shaped machine flips backwards over and over in the air before landing on its tracks and attacking the flipper-open Wedga Triton, breaching the clearance opened by the gaping flipper and it sends the blue Storm II-shaped robot over onto its back just as the large flipper closes, immediately allowing Andrew Jackson at the controls to activate the flipper a second time and get Wedga Triton back onto its wheels for it to attack Pure Evil, who now has the flipper open and it feels like dj vu, but this time the flip is fatal as Wedga Triton pushes Pure Evil against the spike strip and when it activates the flipper 1600kg of force send Pure Evil up and over the barrier, to the end of its competition.

    Meanwhile The May Tracks Has You slides in underneath Neo-Mecha completely avoiding the disc and getting the Ankle Biter-shaped machine stuck on the upward facing spikes before Frank activates the flipper and sends Neo-Mecha over onto its back. Samuel self-rights, but his manoeuvrability is greatly impaired and the spinner barely limps towards The May Tracks, but does manage to score a hit on the front wedge with the spinning disc and flips the front end of May Tracks into the air before limping in so Frank lands on top of the disc, but Neo-Mecha€™s weaponry is of course motionless so no further damage is caused and the disc rolls downwards as The May Tracks Has You is returned to the floor and immediately Frank drives in underneath Neo-Mecha again, pushing it across the arena floor and into the back of Wedga Triton (who at this point has just flipped out Pure Evil), ramming them both against the arena wall, and putting Neo-Mecha on top of Wedga, who turns and rams the pit release, freeing Neo-Mecha and opening the pit in one easy move! And now as The May Tracks goes on the attack again to finish off Neo-Mecha Wedga Triton drives in underneath the side of the clever weapon synergy machine and flips it high into the air!

    Frank comes crashing back to the ground on his back and self-rights, but Neo-Mecha has limped over to him and hits the side of May Tracks with a hefty hit from the spinning disc, knocking the side panel skyward and flipping the May Tracks over again! Frank self-rights, but the team-up has proved deadly as Wedga Triton now comes on the attack, now driving in underneath The May Tracks and pushing it right across the arena and over the side of the pit!

    CEASE!

    Pure Evil should go back to complexity and The May Tracks Doesn€™t Have You;
    Wedga Triton and Neo-Mecha advance to the second round!

    Round 1 Eliminators so far:

    Autoism 3.0 and Back to Rock III pitted Spin Dash Unleashed (3) and Nidhogg Evo.

    Mega Masher 2 was smashed up by The Zodiac and pitted by Hot Sauce, who the helped Kody to destroy Binary Hell.

    Gabriel IV: Enjoy the Violence (2) squeaked through the judges decision between 3 robots after Talisman was eliminated. Supreme owned the judges decision, but Cobalt had just 1.625 points.

    Pure Evil: Back to Basics wasnt evil enough for Wedga Triton and Neo-Mecha caused a lot of damage to The May Tracks Has You.

    Sheer Heart Attack 2 (1) vs Death Sentence vs Traffic Warden vs Roo 2

    Representing Team Varying Every Day, seeded #1, Sheer Heart Attack 2!
    The reigning champion returns! It€™s unchanged from last season, still the same old drum with tracks and rear wedges, a very cool design that is packed with originality. The tracks are made from thick titanium and powered by lynch motors while the upward spinning drum is powered by magmotors. It immobilised MeCannibal 3.0 last time in the first round before taking out Spin Dash Unleashed and eventually Gabriel III in the final.

    Representing Team Fatal Robotics, Death Sentence!
    This is a box shaped rammer with an X-Terminator style scoop at the rear to shove opponents around with. The horizontal spinning disc at the front can dish out some serious pain and the robot runs when inverted, but the tracks are exposed to attacks from above.

    Representing Team Braveheart, Traffic Warden!
    This awe-inspiring rigid U-shaped machine is also very original, like the seeded machine in this melee. It utilises hydraulic clamps to hold the opposition in place and can then control all but the most powerful rammers with the huge E-Teks that supply over 30HP to the wheels! However the 4mm titanium armour could be thrashed by spinners, which 3 of the other robots in this melee are.

    Representing Team Devil€™s Incarnate, Roo 2!
    This cylinder shaped machine employs a mega-powerful spinning spike ring around the robot to destroy anyone that comes close, as it dishes out well over 100Kj per hit! It€™s based on Gyrobot from series 7 of Robot Wars, but with a hell of a lot more power, however wheels are exposed from above.

    All four robots move off their starting positions as the buzzer goes and head towards the middle of the arena, the seeded Sheer Heart Attack 2 making the first move and driving towards Death Sentence, hitting the front disc of the box shaped robot and the two spinners meet and sparks fly, but neither robot is flung across the arena in true spinner style because their grippy tracks hold onto their space sin the arena and so they drive against each other with weapons inactive, Martijn turning Sheer Heart Attack 2 around to get the wedges into play while Samuel does the same to utilise the scoop on Death Sentence, and now Death Sentence gains the advantage, managing to breach the hinged wedges at the back of SHA2 and now Sam pushes Martijn across the arena and into the pit release button!

    Meanwhile Roo 2 has spun up and now goes on the attack of Traffic Warden, the huge Kj count shredding the 4mm titanium of the U-shaped robot to ribbons as Steven struggles to get the hydraulic clamps of Traffic Warden into play, but before any major damage is done the spinning ring of Roo 2 is stopped by Traffic Warden€™s attack and the clamps now come into play to not only squeeze Roo 2 tightly, but prevent that spinning ring from beginning to rotate again and now Traffic Warden makes the most of those E-Teks in the drive and forces Roo 2 across the arena, still trapped by the powerful clamps!

    While this is going on Sheer Heart Attack 2 has escaped from the X-Terminator style scoop of Death Sentence and has managed to spin up the vertical drum, now turning to put into use and whacking the side of Death Sentence, ripping a side panel clean off and also flipping Death Sentence against the pit release button! But the tracks grip the wall and Sam is able to wriggle out of the tough situation with a little bit of expert manoeuvring, only to be attacked again by Sheer Heart Attack 2, who whacks the rear scoop of Death Sentence this time, tearing that off to leave Death Sentence with a dangerously high ground clearance on all sides!

    Meanwhile Traffic Warden still hasn€™t let go of Roo 2 and uses the superior drivetrain to force Roo 2 across the arena and towards the pit that was just opened by Death Sentence pushing Sheer Heart Attack 2 against it! Will struggles at the controls, but Traffic Warden is persistent and the clamps are strong enough to hold Roo 2 in place as Steven turns and dumps the invertible ring spinner in the pit of oblivion, prematurely ending Roo 2€™s run in Mechanical Maelstrom 2.0.

    Just a few metres away though Death Sentence has managed to come back a little and has given Martijn a whack with the 21kg horizontal spinning disc mounted on his robot, however the titanium armour of Sheer Heart Attack 2 holds up to the blow and Martijn attacks again, now driving in underneath the ground clearance with those rear wedges and pushing the tracked box towards Traffic Warden, who obliges and puts those clamps to good use again, grabbing Death Sentence and once again using the power in that two wheel drive to pull Death Sentence off the wedges of Sheer Heart Attack 2 and turn around to put it halfway over the pit, with one track trying to save the robot while another dangles over the abyss!

    But there is no saving Death Sentence and Sheer Heart Attack 2 moves in, nudging Samuel€™s second bot with a static drum and knocking it into the pit, signalling the end of Death Sentence€™s Mechanical Maelstrom 2.0 in a puff of smoke that sees it disappear from sight.

    Roo 2 spins out and Death Sentence is sentenced;
    Sheer Heart Attack 2 (1) and Traffic Warden advance to the second round!

    Dendroaspis vs Tira V vs Black Panther vs Holepunch 2.0

    Representing Team Killa Vapourbots, Dendroaspis!
    This invertible wedge shaped machine seems to be styled on CUAD the Crusher, the Battlebots Superheavyweight. It has a lifting arm on top and another on the bottom to allow it to lift no matter what side up it is and it has side spikes to allow it to act as a thwackbot, plus the height of the spikes can be altered by moving the lifting arm. The armour is very thick and tough, but the lifters don€™t make for very potent weapons.

    Representing Team Zlayerz, Tira V!
    The fifth robot in the Tira series of vertical spinners also packs a low pressure flipper mostly for righting the robot plus top guards to stop the disc smacking against the arena floor if it€™s flipped. The spinner is petrol powered and could do some nasty damage as well as flip opponents around as it spins upwards, purposely to do just that.

    Representing Team Doomforall, Black Panther!
    This oddly shaped semi-UFO robot has dual weaponry, a Terrorhurtz style pneumatic axe and a weak electric flipper, but it isn€™t meant to do any damage, just help Black Panther to employ the hit and run tactics that have made the series so successful over the years.

    Representing RCC, Holepunch 2.0!
    This wedge shaped robot has a top pneumatic crusher and a roll-cage on top to aid in self-righting, but it could get stacked against the wall still. The crusher comes down though with over 11 tonnes of force, and being pneumatic it€™s also fast. Without a doubt this is one of the most dangerous weapons in the competition. However, with wheelchair motors in the drive it isn€™t the best pusher.

    All four robots go flying off the mark as the match gets underway, with Tira V spinning up that vertical flywheel as the dangerous sounding noise of the spinning weapon fills the arena. Alex is at the controls of Black Panther, the flipper/axe combo and together with Kody they aim in at Holepunch 2.0, with Tira V running in on the attack and thwacking Holepunch€™s HDPE armour, ripping out a chunk, but since the plates are each 4cm thick the innards are not exposed and Holepunch ploughs into the front of Tira V while the disc is static, crunching down onto the polycarbonate covering on the disc and down through the hardox armour as well! Black Panther appears to be teaming up with Tira as Alex drives in to help out, but suddenly Dendroaspis appears from nowhere and rams in underneath the rear of Black Panther, ramming it across the arena and activating the bottom lifter arm to flip Black Panther against the spike strip!

    Meanwhile Kody is in Leo€™s grasp as the crusher of Holepunch 2.0 holds on in there, now pulling the reverse wedge shaped machine of Tira V across the arena and Leo reverses into the pit release button. This however loosens his grip on Kody€™s machine and it slides off the tip of the crusher before reversing away to spin up the disc, but the flywheel weapon doesn€™t begin to rotate, and as Tira reverses away with no weapon we can accurately guess that the engine that drives the spinning weapon was been crushed by Holepunch 2.0, who now goes on the attack of the once great looking Tira V, who now looks a bit of a mess. Kody turns and manages to slip the rear wedge under the side of Holepunch 2.0, firing the low pressure flipper and rolling Holepunch 2.0 over away from itself.

    On the other side of the arena Black Panther has self-righted and is now repeatedly whacking Dendroaspis with the Terrorhurtz-style axe, but the thick hardox armour of Dendroaspis is holding up well and Richard drives in under the front of Black Panther this time, gaining the advantage because of the wedge shape and lifting again, this time not flipping Black Panther, but taking the wheels off the floor and powering across the arena to roll Black Panther across the floor and into the pit! No one expected that attack from Dendroaspis, who now turns to attack one of the other two machines, driving under the side of Holepunch 2.0 and using the bottom lifting arm to again roll it over, but Holepunch is still intent on destroying Tira V, driving underneath the side this time and buckling the hardox armour as the crusher comes down, digging into the robot and all of a sudden Tira V is venting gas- the co2 supply has been pierced by Holepunch 2.0€™s powerful weaponry and now Tira V is entirely weaponless!

    And now despite having attacked Holepunch 2.0 earlier on Richard Southworth at the controls of Dendroaspis drives in underneath the front of Tira V just as Holepunch releases the victim and reverses away, and Richard activates the bottom lifting arm again to flip Tira V onto her back, and without the flipper she can€™t self-right!
    10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!
    Tira V is over and out, and with that the battle is over as Black Panther lies in the pit and Tira V remains turtle.

    CEASE!

    Black Panther is hunted down and Tira V is booted from the next edition of Soul Calibur;
    Dendroaspis and Holepunch 2.0 go marching onto the second round!

    Visioned vs Dantu vs Monolith vs Leprosy Infection (4)

    Representing Team Wet €˜n€™ Wild, Visioned!
    This invertible box shape with scoop on the front employs LEM-130 lynch motors in the drive to give 8HP continuously and 18HP when at optimum power, and as if that wasn€™t enough it has two Crushtacean style claws at the front of the robot, powered by Litton motors. The six wheel drive will help to push it around the arena and the 9mm titanium armour should protect from most attacks, but like Team Wet €˜n€™ Wild€™s previous season entry Do or Die it can be stacked.

    Representing Team Doomforall, Dantu!
    This axlebot has a big meaty disc powered by the same motor that powers Visioned€™s drive, but there€™s only one of them here. The disc is vertical to flip and rip and the robot is invertible, plus the hardox armour is very thick and flipping this machine will do almost nothing at all unless you can get it over the fence. It won€™t do too well against rammers though.

    Representing Team ???, Monolith!
    This the second Storm II-shaped machine entered by Andrew Jackson, but unlike Wedga Triton it doesn€™t have a high power flipper on its side, but what it does have is 10mm hardox monocoque armour and the ability to run inverted with the four wheel drive, powered by 2 magmotors to give more pushing power than Tornado! However, with no active weaponry what can it do to the other robots?

    Representing Team Dino Warriors, seeded #4, Leprosy Infection!
    This box shaped machine can run inverted, just like all the other robots in this battle. It has a lynch motor to spin the drum upwards and flake away at other robots€™ armour and magmotors in the drive to turn the four wheels, plus it is painted a vile shade of green that could potentially make the other drivers sick!

    Monolith has had its skirts removed for this bout seen as there are two spinners. At the beginning of the match Andy€™s bot is also the first to go on the attack, driving at Dantu, who has spun up the disc. The two meet head on, but Monolith completely dodges the flywheel weapon and gets right underneath Dantu, now gunning the magmotors in the drive and pushing it back across the arena and into the spike strip! Dantu drives over the top of Monolith though and turns, catching the rear of Monolith with the disc and flipping it up into the air, but not over. Still though the 10mm hardox absorbs the blow with no problem and Andy pushes under Dantu with his front wedge again, but this time Alex just drives right over the 10cm high Monolith, turning to again catch the rear of Andy€™s machine with the spinning disc, this time flicking it high enough into the air to allow itself to run in underneath and turn to flip Monolith onto its back! Although Andy€™s robot runs inverted the wedge is useless upside down and now the little black robot has a high ground clearance all round!

    Meanwhile Visioned has stormed right at Leprosy Infection and grabbed hold of the drum with the vertical claws, and with six wheels to the seeded machine€™s four No Wai has now pushed Chris into the pit release button and without even letting go once turned and taken Leprosy Infection to the chasm, running up to it and dropping it into the abyss in pure Crushtacean-style of grab then pit and in the first ten seconds of this round the seeded machine is down and out along with Team Dino Warriors!

    And with Monolith inverted Visioned sees it€™s chance, driving straight at the inverted wedge while Andy is bothered with Dantu, getting the claws straight in and grabbing hold tightly before reversing across the arena with Monolith in tow, turning and ramming Andy€™s undamageable machine into the pit, as the shortest fight of Mechanical Maelstrom 2.0 yet draws to a premature close!

    CEASE!

    Leprosy Infection (4) is infected and Monolith is beaten (but not broken of course);
    Visioned owns the fight to move onto the next round with Dantu tagging along!

    Eliminator 8
    Hypertension MK3 vs Eternia vs Drilla Killa VII vs Nitro-Gene 5.0

    Representing Team Devil€™s Incarnate, Hypertension MK.3!
    With thick hardox armour and a powerful flipper this wedge shaped machine is here to win. It most likely won€™t be damaged, and the strategy is to only flip when needed to conserve the comparatively small amount of gas on board. However, the strategy could turn out rotten if this machine is forced to flip too much.

    Representing Team RCC, Eternia!
    Like it€™s teammate Holepunch 2.0, this robot has thick HDPE armour over the main body, meaning holes can be made and chunks can be torn out but hardly ever will the internals be reached by an opponent. This impressive looking robot has a Gravity-style flipper, but the pushing power is weak compared to other vapours.

    Representing Team Killa Vapourbots, Drilla Killa VII!
    This robot is perfectly shaped for ramming, with a wedge at the front and an inverted wedge at the back so that runs identically the other side up, albeit with the drive reversed of course. Each wedge has three holes in it, out of which come industrial drills, but the question is how much damage will the drills do?

    Representing Team Insanity, Nitro-Gene 5.0!
    This box wedge shape robot has a high power nitrogen flipper, as well as two magmotors in the drive to give it plenty of power. The hardox armour will protect against most attacks and the front is flat to bash spinners, and even though it can self-right the robot has the ability to run inverted. This however leaves the tyres open to attack from axes.

    As this final round 1 eliminator of Mechanical Maelstrom Season 2.0 gets going Nitro-Gene 5.0 goes on the attack of Eternia, but Leo turns and due to the shape of his machine gets under the front of Nitro-Gene 5.0, firing the flipper to send Paul€™s robot over onto its back! The flipper of Nitro-Gene is fired and the robot stylishly somersaults in the air to land on its wheels and drive at Eternia again as Leo was turning away, getting the flipper underneath and firing the weaponry again to send Eternia high into the air with the 1600kg of force, and as it comes crashing down to earth Eternia lands close to the pit release button, and when it self-rights it just avoids it, so narrowly the pit is still closed!

    While Nitro-Gene was battling Eternia Drilla Killa assaults Hypertension, ramming under the side of the wedge shaped robot and lifting it up with the drills, powering into the spike strip with the PERM motors going at their top capacity! Hypertension is thrown away by the force of the ram, but lands behind Drilla Killa VII and seeing his chance Will drives in underneath the inverted wedge at the back of Richard€™s machine and comfortably pushed right in underneath, as even though the drills from the inverted wedge push against the top armour of Hypertension they fail to do any damage at all and Will gets right in underneath before finally firing the flipper and throwing Richard€™s second entry high into the air, and as it was so close to the fence Drilla Killa VII comes crashing down onto the camera tracks.

    On the other side of the arena Nitro-Gene and Eternia€™s front ground clearances have cancelled each other out, and Nitro-Gene gains the advantage as it pushes Leo back across the arena, but Hypertension MK3 interrupts as Will sees the perfect chance to gain the second elimination of this battle as he drives underneath the side skirt of Nitro-Gene 5.0 and pushes Paul across to the arena side wall, firing that wedge flipper for the second time in this bout and for the second time it is a fatal flip!

    CEASE!

    Drilla Killa VII is killed and Nitro-Gene 5.0 blows up;
    Hypertension MK3 and Eternia move onto the second round!

    Oh blimey. The best I can do here is spin up and hit anywhere I possibly can to inflict the most damage possible. Self-right when needed.

    Ill predict Gabriel, Eternia, Hypertension, Traffic Warden, Hot Sauce, Wedga, and Sheer Heart Attack to win the other matches.
